A few of you guys have probably seen this car in Muscle Car Review (as the rotting car of the month). 69 Laurentian, 427/4-speed. It's on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6386&item=24800169 11&rd=1
Way too big a project for me, but it would make an awesome car if you could figure out a legal way to replace the body!

Bet it was cool when it was new but looks like mission impossible....wonder what the difference is in the body as the seller states.

I'm sure this was on ebay a year ago. -I don't remember what happened. The car looks the same except now he pulled the data plate off. It would be nice to see this car alive again.

That would be a great car if it could be restored. I wasn't aware that that there were any Canadian built Pontiacs that came from the factory with a 427. I know that there were a few Beaumonts that had dealer installed 427s. These were called Cheatahs. There are supposed to be a couple Cheatahs left but I have never even saw a picture of one. I'm not 100% sure what year they were but I think they were 66s or 67s.

I know a little about the Canadian cars from what I've read, but not sure on what the differences are. -especially the later cars. If this is the same layout as an early "Big" Canadian Pontiac then it has a Chevrolet chassis, floorpan and interior pieces. Here is a link I stumbled on a while ago of some details and a '64 Parisienne Custom Sport 425HP 409, 4-Speed. A Bruneau Performance Ent. (http://www.bruneauperformance.ca/) Click on ENTER, then 1964 Pontiac (under the pic) and then Parisienne Custom Sport for one of his mentions about the platform.

Wow, are those the ultimate 'Flintstone Floors' or what? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The driver's seat looks to be sitting on the ground. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah, my girlfriend noticed that when I showed her the auction. Then she asked me "you're not going to buy that car, are you? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

THE DIFFERENCE WOULD BE THE CANADIAN PONTIACS WERE BUILT ON CHEVROLET FRAMES SO THE AMERICAN BODY WOULD NOT BOLT ONTO THE CANADIAN FRAME. I BELEIVE THE AMERICAN PONTIACS HAD WHAT THEY CALLED A "WIDE TRACK" FRAME AND SUSPENTION. IF YOU LOOK AT COMPARIBLE MODELS OF CANADIAN & AMERICAN PONTIACS (LAURENTIAN & CATALINA, FOR INSTANCE) YOU WILL NOTICE THE WHEELS SIT FURTHER IN ON THE CANADIAN MODELS.

Ok so lets get this straight.....The body/frame are like 98% gone and he is even suggesting a rebody. Basicly what you are buying is a Vin plate, trim tag, build sheet, and GM Canada docs and reserve is STILL not met at $1025.00???!!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif Oh and yes and this car was listed on e-bay a while back.

So one would have to find a rustfree Canadian 2+2? Are there many left up north? Seems like a neat car, but a 40k resto ++++http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

There's going to be transporting charges too. May as well put the VIN plate, trim tag, build sheet, and GM Canada docs in an envelope and mail them. Recycle the rest.

You are also getting the drivetrain which may or may not be rebuildable. What would you guys be saying if this were a Yenko? I understand that it is not a supercar but it much rarer than any Yenko. If this were a Yenko people would be fighting over it in this condition.

I should have looked at the auction before commenting. I didn't realize it had an engine and tranny. I took a look at the auction and pictures. It's tough to see a car in that kind of shape. Whoever gets it has some serious thinking to do and hopefully deep pockets. I guess somebody could use it as a parts car for another. That is if there's any left.
