They say it's a November car so it can't be a COPO since they didn't start until Jan or Feb. The first ZL1's were delivered Dec 31, 68.

I lived in McFarland for 15 years and don't ever remember seeing that car. Nor do I recall a racecar that looked like it. Ken's Automotive and A-1 Auto are both located in McFarland and I knew the owner.
I thought that I knew all the drag racers in the area??? Something new every day.

Small world. I looked at a Daytona yellow '69 Z/28 in McFarland in the late '70s, had a console-mount tape player.
I sent him the bad news about his "COPO".

Looks as though he still thinks it's the real deal.

Im only jumping in here to ask this... First: at what stage would this site say would have been the definitive answer as to when, the topic of a Camaro becoming a COPO Camaro become a reality; Secondly, at what pointe would that agreement have taken place between all parties involved (GM, Chevrolet, Harrel, etc...), and Third, would the Chevrolet Division, or GM for that matter, have made any early test parts of the equipment to be used prior to the order becoming available as a viable car? My guess is that GM knew what to put together if they ever wanted to, as to me this COPO order seems to have moved along rather quickly inside the assembly plants to make an order possible....Did GM have already had tested HD equipment arrangements in order to know exactly what to put together, ie...a COPO order???? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

In my conversations w/ emmie he certainly seems to have knowledge and documentation on just about every special performance car including vettes and promos, and had personally known alot of dealerships owners. Vince has a substantial price tag attached to his services and is well known for giving you a nope if your car just isn't...So if he doc'd it , then he knew it I would guess long before this guy seeked his services...IMO. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
