Frank,
Very nice score and and even better story showing how excited you were to finally get the car of your dreams. Enjoy the car as I am sure you will. I just sold one of mine yesterday with very mixed feelings so I too am on the hunt. hopefully something like this will come along.

Very nice. How far out of Chi town did you have to go to get that pic, and why are there no black marks on that virgin blacktop? Glad to see she's gettin her street legs. Rumor has it Marlin's gonna give you a length for a weight break. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Schonye

Wow guys thanks for the nice comments about my car! I AM happier with this car than any other that I have had in the past. The reaction that this car gets on the street is unbelievable with eyes almost literally poping out of heads. The same question always comes out of the mouths of people that see it...Is it REAL?!

Mark that is weird that your buddy saw the Deuce coming to my house. The day was March 1st so I wonder if that was the car. Another interesting question that has been asked of me several times so far is how we are sure that not way more than 82 cars are out there. Marks story is a perfect example. A guy sees a Yenko on a flat bed driving down the freeway on a cold rainy March night and he tells a guy who has a connection on this site. We talk about it and bam someone knows the owner, what selling dealer, etc. Or like that thread a while back where a guy who remembers an Orange white stripe Yenko Deuce driving past him in like 1980 or something and mentions is here and within minutes someone already researched the car and a full history is shared about the car....totally amazing. My wife calls me a few weeks ago from the highway and freaks out while telling me she is next to a Deuce on a flat bed on I55 here in the Chi Town area that is a weird green. She looses the flat bed driver but I am assuming the car is Citrus green and wonder who's car it was.

Oh crap! I forgot to give thanks to Marlin in my write up! Without him nobody knows what the heck they are buying! Thanks bud! (I am still gonna smoke your a$$ on the track! I don't even need a car legnth for my "weight disadvantage!" http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

BTW I got a ton of detail work on the car finished this week Fri. for the members that seen the car already you should see it now! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Congrats on both the acquisition of the car and the Feature, Frank. Hope to see you out & about with it sometime this summer. 3.73 is still a good gear for that car - but not as much fun as the 4.56 http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Where was this car in New York? If it was near me within the past five years, I've probably seen it or it's twin.

The previous owner Neal Robbins lived in Pulteney NY. I believe that the cars were stored in Prattsburg NY.

I bet it's the same car. I saw it in two different shows the same summer. To the farthest show it would probably be a 1.5 hour ride. Now I know where it is. I only saw it that one year.

Paul have you seen the other deuce in Rochester? Or the 3 in Syracuse?

Paul_S
07-09-2004, 05:05 AM
Yeah, it's definitely the same car. I looked at the write-up again. -When I saw it in the '99 Farmington show it had an MCR front license plate.

The more I think about it, I think I did see the second Rochester Deuce. Within a year or so after the '99 show I saw both cars together. Is it red also? It was probably the '00 Farmington show. For some reason I don't have any pics. -The show was busy and I believe the friend I was with is a "runner".

My show and cruise attendance has been sketchy since then.

I haven't seen the Syracuse cars, but the last show I saw out there was two years ago and the main thing that showed-up was rain. I'll try and hit the Syracuse Nationals July 16-18.

There is a very nice '66 Stinger running around here.

Paul if the car had a Muscle Car Review plate then it was 100% for sure my car. I have pics of the car with the plate and it appears in the episodes of The American Muscle Car with it as well. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

hvychev

Steve I mentioned in the write up that I removed the 4.56's and replaced them with 3.73's because that thing was screaming at only about 45 mph! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

YENKO DEUCE REGISTRY

'Screamin' is fun, put 'em back in!

The other deuce in Rochester is Green, and after touring the country with various owners, ended up back in NY after being originally sold from NY at Robert Chev. in Hicksville, Long Island, NY. Robert sold at least 3 deuces but this green car is the only one found, possibly the latest orange one found is from there, but that is unconfirmed.

The three in Syracuse don't come out - and only one is restored, the second is under resto, and the third is waiting it's turn.

So what's wrong with that http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif That car was made to scream!

Back in 71 my daily driver was a 69 Dart Swinger 340 with a 4.56 gear, and I was dating a girl that lived 25 miles away. Run the tach up to 3,000 rpm and drive. 1 date = 1 tank of gas. No problem http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just yankin' your chain, Frank http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
