The last I heard there were over 450 GTOs in overall attendance.
This Judge was 1 of 168 made, and it was fantastic!

A nice '66 GTO in front of the Centerpoint Marriot, where the convention was held.
GTOs rolled-in all weekend long.
I arrived from VA on Thursday after a grueling (not) 9-hr, drive!

Here is SuperCarBob and Milt Schornack with me and the guy on the far right is Steve O'Brien from Melbourne Australia. Steve has 2 1970 GTOs.
Behind us is Schornack's Ram Air V car.

The cars lined-up down this 1/3 mile road... by Sunday it was full and extended beyond the end and over the Pontiac plant rail tracks! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

A red '74. There was a blue one there with a 455 in it. I shot that on film, so I can't post it. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

The blue one is on the cover of this month's High Perf. Pontiac magazine.

Back in the early eighties I was at the Summer Carlisle swap meet looking for a car and remember trying to purchase a silver 1969 Judge RA IV 4 speed. It was a POCI National champion. That car was gorgeous and the owner was asking $10,000 at the time. I had $8,000 cash and I think he might have been considering it but I looked very young for my age and I think he thought I was going to beat his car.
Nevertheless, I wound up buying a 1970 Z28 but still wish I had that Goat instead. I often wonder what happened to the Judge.

The final number was about 540 registrations, but that included vendors and people who did not bring cars. The number of GTO's there was approximately 332. Our club photographer was able to shoot 328 of them http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif Pretty good considering he only missed about 4 http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

Nope...he took the elevator http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Actually, there was a time that his car was in an indoor display (for the Detroit Auto Show) and he had to take his car in an elevator! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I had a coupla photos of Billy and Reet with the car, but I didn't post it because Reet doesn't seem to have any actual pix of her or Billy up here, (save for that tiny thumbnail). Lemme just say they're a cute couple!

I took 105 diggees and about fifty 35mm shots at the show. I wish I had more panoramic shots!

Anyway, I got the Hawaian GTO shirt from Rita too... and a GTO hat.
