I got the link from Bill Eaton, who peruses this site and also Kevin Suydams site. Here are some photos of my brothers 1967 RS/SS low mileage Camaro. It has the L35 396, and all numbers match. He's owned it since the '80s (loved that gas crisis)and paid under a grand for it then. Saved it from being made into a street freak by the next door neighbor, who had an LS7 lined up to put into it.
Thank God!

More history. Car was said to have 4 owners, including my brother. One of the owners was said to be Sonny Bryant, who was a local racer in Orange County, Ca. Restoration was started 2 years ago. Mileage is less than 30,000.

http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gifLooks like your bro has a very sweet 67. Welcome to the site, you wont find a better bunch of enthusiasts... although I have a feeling its gonna get pretty quiet around here for a few days! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

We started with the supossed rumors, and found out that they were true! Sonny Bryant did actually own this car(Dad bought it for him)and he raced it locally. Sonny Bryant is known for his crankshafts and engine work these days, though he did campaign a pro stocker in the early 70's. Notice the blacked out rear panel...big block??

Thanks Camaro Joe for the compliments. This is a cool site.

There is more to the story. My brother tracked down Mr. Bryant and eventually got these 2 photos...and his mom who sent the photos, still lives in the same house as when the pictures were taken!

Notice that my brother painted the bumblebee stripe black, instead of white, and the same with the pinstriping. The car originally was ordered out of Cone Chevrolet in Fullerton, Ca. (Notice the paper plates). My brother still has the original black and yellow plates that are shown on the car!

Finally, Mrs. Bryant dug out the original registration for the car, and sent it to my brother. Though she hasn't found the protecto-plate, I think that he was extremely lucky to find what he has already.

I'm open to opinions...

By the way, the car has been restored to completely stock. Gone are the yellow Lakewood traction bars shown in the photo...replaced with the factory traction "arm". More pictures to follow...later!

That Bill Eaton is one great guy. He has a '67 RS/SS 396 that is one gorgeous car with those N96 mag wheelcovers and redlines. He's the fourth owner of his and it is also a SoCal car having been sold new at Allan Gwynn Chevrolet in Glendale. I think there were only 5,003 396 Camaros built in '67 and 1,483 with the Turbo 400 trans, making them somewhat rare nowadays. Nothing looks better than that 396 Turbo Jet flag on the fender of a '67 Camaro SS 396. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

427TJ...You're right. Bill is a totally cool guy, though I've never had the chance to meet him. We swap cool car pics from time to time. Attached is a picture of Bills RS/SS 396 L35 Camaro that you were speaking about.

Geez...It only took my brother 20+ years to restore the Camaro.... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
