A guess?
That looks like a VIN#.

154668-Last 6 digits of Vehicle VIN#.
In 1966,Fremont Calif. built Chevelles/Elcos.
Muncie Date code.

I saw the Z refering to the Fremont plant but I thought it did not come into play until after 72 or so... at least thats what I think I read on a forum when I typed in Vin decoding as a search on yahoo...thats what is confusing to me P0 should be 1970 right???

Z indicates Fremont in 69 too.

Thnx Guys no big deal the Z threw me..just going back into a driver and wanted to make a note of what it was.
Bud.
What is the main case casting number?
65-67 should be 3885010
1970 would be either 3925660, or 3925661.
Should also have the ratio designator (sp)after the date code. (69-74)
A = M20, B = M21, C = M22.
661 would also have a fine (26) spline input, turbo 400 style output, and a drain plug.
