I promiced a buddy to go look at a 70 BB Nova with him tomorrow evening. I am told it is a 375 hp 4 speed with paper work. Nice paint and fresh original motor out of the car and a good 350ci in the car to use on the street.

Car is solid and no rust (So he says)???? We will see...!

I think it can be bought under $14,500. What do you think of that price?

If he has the correct paperwork, and it is an L78 I don't believe it's out of line. Baring the rust issue.Schonye

Sorry guys The Nova turned out to be nothing special. It was clean and straight. 114270W 736 interior 28 28 pnt. 09B dated. vin 129,3xx

But I think it is just a little too high. NOM (350) 4 speed, Hurst, PB, M steering. Red/black Bucket interior.

Does a '70 SS 396 come with a 10 bolt? I would expect to see a 12 in it. Also the 396 emblem was above the front sidemarker light? Didn't seem right to me there.
Aftermarket interior so no SS emblems on the interior anywhere. L framerail was notch/trimed with a torch to clear a oversize/wider radiator.

Nice clean good Red paint no body damage or rust showing anywhere. Drive it home and it is fast to boot.

Guy wants me to make him a offer. For some reason it just doesn't make me feel like it is a true SS body. I have not had time to look it up but will do so tomorrow.

Extra BB motor he has is NOM either. T021 1CLX ?? hard to read with eldebrock ALum heads on it. 10R211xxx Vin # To far off for this car, but would be usefull if I could find the car it came out of? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Update: Originally a (Fathom) Blue with cusom blue bench seat. Built on Sept 2nd week at Willowrun.

Spare motor is only a Townada built Feb 1st 1970? 350 horse (CTX) still don't understand the I in front of the ctx?
Of course the S/n makes no sense to me. It is very pain and easy to read. Does that mean the bock was made in 1971? for the 70 model year? Now I am confused...

Would this not be a 2 bolt main block?

Oh well...? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

'70+ Novas had the engine designation above the marker light.

I saw that they did after looking around. I think they had drilled the fender for the 369 emblem and it just didn't seem to be where it should. Perhaps too high or someting.

Also ? Why do they not have the SS side fender louvers behind the wheel opening like my '69 has?
Did they stop making them with them in '70?

A Nova BB engine will have a "W" in the vin stamp on motor and trans. All SS cars in that year had a 12 bolt rear. Usual gear ratio was 3.55. there are no SS emblems in the interior other than the one on the std steering wheel.
