What a weekend, Just got back from the pure stock drags. A show I will say that all should attend,A super all make Gentlemans show and race. Rob and Pete both posted some very good numbers again in their awesome 69 Camaro's and Caseys F-85, That has got to be one of the most impressive Oldsmobiles I've seen, Flat out screams!! Another fast smallblock was that red/red 70 LT1 vette, certified stock 12.60's @ 111 mph , Very cool!!. This was our 8'th year of participation and my brother and I brought this AAR Cuda this year. A 3.55 geared auto car, dead stock and radials made for et's of 14.50's @ 97mph, more to come.

While we were at the race we were looking forward to Sunday as this was the day we were to finally aquire a car that took 16 years to get. Owned by a local man since 1979, The motor spun a rod the year he bought it and it was parked. 85K on the counter, and most of it's original paint, A real N96 car with alot of options. We like ALL musclecars alike but the 71 Cuda is in my opinion the most visually agressive car made. Just a killer car!! I just wanted to share a few pictures of this original car, First it's seen daylight in 20 plus years.

The driving/fog lights took away from the look,
but I think are original. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
What engine is going in it? (Wedge,Hemi??) http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif </font>

Thanks Mike, The road lamps are original, They were standard on a 70 Cuda and optional on a 71, I think they are very cool looking option, You can see the grille is color keyed to the car which was also a option, When this was ordered you got chrome headlight bezels instead of a black bezel with a argent grille, Car also has leather interior, inside hood release and fast ratio power steering, The car was a 340 auto car originally and most likely will stay this way, But. A HEMI clone would be the only way we will ever be able to have one of those machines.. It will have to wait in line behind a few other cars for a while before it is restored, Our Dart Swinger will be done in the next couple weeks and the L89 is the next to be finished, I'll keep posting pictures of progress, Thanks again!!

Not coded but has a set of original rear window louvers. We like the car alot but I'd like a Sassy Grass 4spd.. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Thanks Charley, Yes 'most' of the paint is original,lh fender has been sprayed at one time, It's nice to dream about a 71 hemi but the reality is we would want it as it rolled off the factory line, And as with most of the original paint cars we have or have had the paint is a 'OK' , I think the paint on the red 69 judge is nicer but this color hides flaws a little better. But.. They are only original ONCE!! Preservation of this remaining originality is what we take pride in!! Even if you can't compete in a local podunk car show cause people don't understand your belief. We enjoy sharing with people that understand.. Thanks again Here is a quick picture of a paint inspection stamp on underside of decklid. Very cool http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Is that cut-out under the deck-lid for a rear wing mounting bracket?

Very cool cars Rich, I'd like to have all 3, The Sass Grass 70 cars are unique, especially non AAR/TA. Here is a quick picture of a very late build 'cuda we bought in 1993, It was built June 25'th 70,the car actually came with what is considered the 71 and up hood with the emblem in the front corner, It was special ordered with the rare side strobe stripe that was chartruece or a ledger pad green, When restoring the car we could not get any repo stripes for the car, But we did find a NOS set of black stripes which are on the car in the picture, Car is a pistol grip 4 speed with 3.91 posi, rear spoiler with chin spoilers, dual painted sport mirrors, rubber bumper, Car is definitly a one of one in this configuration, The original dealer in Indiana put a set of wide aftermarket wheels and tires on the rear, put amber bulbs in the road lamps, and displayed the car out front with a big "test drive me" sign on the roof. Very rare and unusual http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif

Cool cars you have there musclecarz. I also own a 71 'Cuda. Mine is a 340 pistol grip 4-speed car, B5 Blue with black int. and all the goodies. It is a complete #'s car and is a blast to drive (when its not winter http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif ). I'll attach a pic for you. I'll also post a pic of my 71 440 clone I had earlier this year but had to sell.
Cool car though, I love that Autumn Bronze color! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Sweet car Scott, As I've said before I love the 70-71 'cuda body and trim, B5 is awesome and looks great with the billboards, Good friend localy here has a 70 B5 hemi w/ white interior, That is awesome too, His car( He has had it for 20 years) was actually used to deliver newspapers in the late 70's! Could you imagine a HEMI starting and stopping every 50-75 yards?? Good time to look for a slant 6 duster!! Thanks for the picture, I'll dig up a photo of the 70!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
