http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif Nice score Scott. Judging by the inventory sheets that must be 114270W349582. That's the only FG car I see coming out of Ammon R. Smith, which means it's a 4 speed? What else can you tell us about the car? Any docs, or owner history to go along with it? You'll have to bring it to the York US 30 Reunion next July for sure. I must say I'm Forest Green with envy. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Yeah, where's mine. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif Guess I'll just have to hoard parts and memorabilia until the right car comes up. You know I'm still aiming to steal that "youngest Deuce owner" title away from you. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Many congrats to Scott! Scott did the deal right, kept calm, and got his Yenko!

This car was originally sold out of Ammon R. Smith Motor Co. in York, PA, and is one of three Yenko Deuces that we know came out of A.R.Smith. Only two of those three are existing at this time. We do not know how this car made it's way from York to Williamsport, PA, but it did, and at one time was used to chase deer. While chasing, it got stuck, and was left in the field! The seller bought the car 25 years ago, and I found him via a title search. He knew what he had when I found him, and had redone the car into a very presentable driver. Apparently, he only put 7k miles on the car in those 25 years, as the car only has approx. 34k miles on it now!

Have fun with it Scott http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

This is probably a good time for an update on the Yenko Deuce Registry statistics:

84 cars found; 63 four-speeds, 21 automatics
11 cars gone: 8 four-speeds, 3 automatics

Cortez Silver 10 found
Fathom Blue 16 found
Citrus Green 5 found
Forest Green 19 found
Gobi Beige 7 found
Sun Yellow 5 found
Huggar Orange 6 found
Cran Red 16 found

12 original owners existing!
Least found color by qty = Citrus and Sunflower Yellow at 5
Least found color by % = Gobi Beige at 28%

Most found color by qty = Forest Green at 19
Most found color by % = Forest Green at 76%

I just never thought that i would strike a deal for a deuce without playing the whats it worth game..But now comes the fun stuff finding and locating the missing orig parts ie:rubber mat, shifter handle, smog etc, anyone have a good website for the nova stuff???The car is pretty much in what u call day 2 car and has not been touched in over 23yrs so it needs some tlc, which i think i will really enjoy this proj.Iam going to just drive the car fore now as its still a good 10 footer and do the resto when i gather the parts i need.Yes i will most certainly post more pics asap ,thanks again to marlin for the unconditional help he provided to me and asked nothing in return, he is a true gentleman of the hobby and i consider it a pleasure to call him a friend .thanks guys

Looks pretty good! Neat to see another FG car come out of the woodwork, and a PA car to boot! Hood tach looks to be original too...I notice your jack hook and base are painted black... Do they appear original or repainted? Mine is gray, and I'm just wondering which is correct... I know 69 Camaro had gray jack hardware, but not certain if 70 was the same... Marlin, whats the scoop? More pics!!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

YENKO DEUCE REGISTRY
09-23-2004, 03:49 PM
To my knowledge should be gray. Check the date code on your jack, if it's way off then the whole assy might be from another car. Either way, no big deal, it's just a jack http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The car looks excellent - much better than what was described to me 7-8 years ago! Have you smoked the tires yet?

YENKO DEUCE REGISTRY

Nope!

The Missouri 'goners' are actually from Johnny Londoff Chev. in Flourissant, MO (Silver a/t, rolled end-over-end, stripped by the time it hit the yard, but owner got the tach and wheels), and the other two are from Riley Chev. in Springfield, MO. The blue one was wrecked, the orange one had a blown engine and was made into a dirt track car - the original block was found at a swap meet in the late '80s by another deuce owner, and he still has it.

As for 'goners', a lot depends on hearsay, and you know how stories get exaggerated http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

However, I can relay the history of a few of them, not all that fantastic, but....

FG - IA - Owner hit a tree, totalling the car
FB - VA - Car was just an old car, and was crushed
?? - VA - Car was just an old car, and was crushed
CS - PA - Title search = Wrecked 3/10/80
CS - PA - Title search = still Yenko Leasing, Spencer story
CR - PA - Title search = Junked approx. 1978
FB - NY - Totalled by a snow plow
CS - MO - Totalled rolled end over end
HO - MO - Turned into a dirt track car
FB - MO - Wrecked
SY - IL - Totalled in a car accident in Indiana

I love green Novas and a Deuce to boot. I also like its stance better than the ass draggers. Not really sure why Chevy left them so low. It couldn't have been for performance reasons because all of them were built like that. Anyway, awesome car and you are one lucky guy! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
