The car looks and sounds like a whole lot of fun to me no matter what it turns out to be. I don't know why he's being hounded about a piece of tin on his firewall. Sounds like this car is on a mission tonite while most 427 camaro owners sit at home watching American Hot Rod on The Discovery Channel. Good luck to him tonite!

Charlie...it's definately not a Yenko! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif When I bought it in Ohio, the owner drove me and the Camaro to the dealer who ordered the car. HE WANTED TO BUY IT BACK! Unselfishly, he was kind enough to go thru the "old" order files and gave me all the General Motors S--t that was smelling kinda moldy. He even recalled the day the 427 rolled off the car carrier. I guess it was a big deal to order a Camaro from the factory with a L72 motor in it back then. I'll have to dig-out of the attic the plastic booklet pouch that has all that GM stuff in it. If I recall, that metal "credit card" thingy is in there too??? When I find time, I'll go and find it.

Mark, You got that right! I think the " iron under the hood" speaks louder then the tin. Besides, I own both the pieces of metal! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif If you've ever in Jersey, post a message...You just earned a ticket to drive it once around the block. I Meant no disrespect...but, the question has been addressed numerous times on this board already. You seem to have enough photos of your beautiful Camaro http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif, why not take a photo of the cowl tag, and placate everyone here who are waiting for you to do just that! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Yeah, you gotta admire a guy who still street races his '69 427 Camaro on Friday nights in 2004. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

It is because no COPO that we have ever seen came with SS emblems. We get the impression that he is telling us he has a COPO car but there is no explanation of the SS emblems. I think the questions were asked by me and others before but were ignored.

Why does it seem that the easiest of questions are the hardest to get straight answers to? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif We've got one thread with a fellow calling his probably nuthin' possibly COPO Chevelle a Yenko COPO L-88 prototype demo car, and here we have a fellow with with a possibly nuthin' probably COPO Camaro and he won't call it anyhing at all? Is it time for a head bangin' off the wall graemlin? You said it first Charley. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Charley.gif

SS427COPO: watch out for that hemi on the top end, they are really well known for that. I had a brief encounter with a slightly modified 69 Hemi Super Bee last summer in my LS6 (solid 11.80 car) and he put a car length on me that I couldn't make up. Really wanted that notch on my belt as a win.
