Some of you guyz crack me up on the authenticity and cowl tag demands you make on member cars. Now...don't get me wrong, some of you have great cars, and some of you are dreamers. The louder cry babys have the best dreams I guess. No problem.....But the fact of the matter is this; as many an article on the 427 Camaro that has been written claiming this and that and that this nut was this way, and that mark was that way..YOU WEREN'T THERE; nor was I. Some articles say we'll never know what rolled out the the plant back then because copious records don't exist. PERIOD.I can tell you that at a Chevy/VettVest show in Philly 10 or so years ago, this "clipboard" guy was hounding all day Saturday for me me to uncover my cowl tag too. He was claiming that because there was no Harrison 4-row" it couldn't be a factory 427. Now, I'm no little guy; and to be honest with you, he was pissing me off with his cavalier, no-it-all attitude. This is all going on while a friend of mine has his Green Yenko parked next to me (he's a member of this board and you can see gorgeous "cover car" in the attach. So, Keith says, "tell him to put up or shut up" I tell the guy if he want to see the tag to doucument his findings, put $250. bucks on the hood. He did "have it on him". So I say, WTF. He looks under the peice of paper over the tag....and kinda got real quite. I thought maybe he passed out or something. Without a muttering a word, he turns and then says "you're right, nice car" http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif. He never bothered me again at any show. His name was Frank Cromeo as I remember; some Camaro expert who was writing a book. (i never read it!) So, as for a photo of the tag...I got another deal for you "doubting Thomas'" Who ever wants to see it, when you post your social security # along with your American Express card and drivers license, I'm ready to to live up to my end of the bargain! Check the next phot too...It's the picture with Keith's Yenko and my 427.

This is the picture at the show. Keith is the blond hair guy with the beard. His car is sweet too. He used to live 2 miles from me but now live in Florida

It is a sweet car, but how about a cowl tag picture? It sounds like it will make all of us shut up and respect the car more. By the way, did you beat the Hemi again?

Keith has a really nice Yenko Camaro...wish I would have bought it...how is he doing anyway ? no one is discounting your car. When they see SS emblems etc. it throws up a lot of questions thats all....a lot of people are curious as to whether this is a COPO Camaro....there are many many people here who have them and more and aren't dreamers so I 'm sure you aren't here trying to impress anyone...wrong place for that....members just want to know what exactly you are talking about since you are new to this site.

I'm new here as you can see. What's the problem with letting someone see a cowl tag? I don't get it? By the way, I guess I'm a dreamer. The only way I'm getting a COPO is if I win the lottery.

Look closely at the intake manifold and carb photo in Jeffs earlier posts. The trim tag shows up well. Appears to be 11th month (pre X code)no D80 code Yellow Camaro. What is it really?

Jeff, I have been quietly watching you talk about your car. I even think that some of the members were hard on you. Now I have to say that I think that the way you are going about talking about your car sucks. I think that it is about time you stop with the games and either put up or go away.

I guess I'm one of the many crybabies. You come here touting this low mile awsome 427 Camaro and talk like it came from the factory but it is like one big stupid cat and mouse game. I ask you what you think it is and the answer I get is it's not a Yenko. You never address why it has SS emblems. I could care less about your cowl tag, vin etc. For all I know you might be a guy at car shows insisting all COPO's had SS emblems. If you think you have some super secret car and don't care to explain just what it is you think you do have why bother us with the rest of this crap ? Is someone gonna steal your car if they see your trim tag ?
"So, as for a photo of the tag...I got another deal for you "doubting Thomas'" Who ever wants to see it, when you post your social security # along with your American Express card and drivers license, I'm ready to to live up to my end of the bargain! Social security # ? Credit Card ? A picture of it parked next to a Yenko ? Who cares ? I have a 32 Ford parked next to a Yenko but it still is a 32 Ford. I just don't get it.
You are welcome here but I do believe you brought this on yourself with all this evasiveness. A COPO with SS emblems raises questions that you no doubt have been asked about many times before.

Let's get real! These cars were built on an assembly line, in mass production. Maybe you're not a "clipboard guy" who pays any attention to "nuts" or "marks" but there are plenty of guys here who do, and who have learned a thing or two about the production of these cars, without being there. If you think that's meaningless than you must think all of the research and information gathered by the "clipboard guys" who frequent this site must be worthless and irrelevant too, so why should they share their findings and opinions with the likes of abrasive and contrary folks like yourself? I think you know better but like to play dumb. If none of this matters, and every car stands alone, then why post pics of a funky door stamping and ask for opinions on what may have happened at the factory if you already have written off all of the answers? Please forgive the "clipbord guys." They have this habit of making their judgements based on facts which they come to through this annoying research. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'll have to dig-out of the attic the plastic booklet pouch that has all that GM stuff in it. If I recall, that metal "credit card" thingy is in there too??? When I find time, I'll go and find it.

If somebody has the original plastic bag with the owners manual, warranty book & POP, why would it be in some unknown place in the attic? I know exactly where mine are and they are just a few feet away from me.

It's a perfect example of 427 Camaro built when most all of us never knew who was doing what at GM with these muscle cars.

When most all of us never knew who was doing what at GM? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif I guess he means when most all of us didn't know who was doing what at GM, but we certainly do now, thanks to legitimate owners of legitimate unmolested cars who will opnely share their information and offer up their cars for those pesky "clipboard guys" to do their research on. If you don't want anyone to see your trim tag or ask any questions about your car's origin and authenticity, then why haul it to Vette Fest and have to stand guard over your trim tag all weekend? I guess because you don't want any more heart conditions caused by whatever might be on it, maybe the mystery 1 of 1 SS427 codes? And I'm a "dreamer?" http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
[ QUOTE ]
It's not been rebuilt or restored with ALL the COPO or 427 or "whatever you want to built" parts that are on available.

[/ QUOTE ] Well what is it then? Looks to me like it's had plenty rebuilt...paint, engine, shifter, gauges, wheels, tires, SS427 badges, wheel well mouldings, the list goes on. We can all see the car was in full race trim when purchased...so what makes it so original and unmolested now? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
[ QUOTE ]
Most original SS427 around.

Actually there aren't any "original SS427" Camaros around...period...including this one, whatever it is. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif

A cowl tag doesn't prove or disprove a car. Real documents do. This site has alot of very helpful knowegable people who have been documenting these cars for along time. I wouldn't alienate them. Iv'e gotten alot of great help from here from guy's that did it just because they love the cars like I do.

Easy guys. Give him a chance to show us what he has. The SS emblems are a mystery but if nobody has seen the car in person(I think Eric has) then why are we jumping to conclusions. It sure looks like a classic old race car regardless of the originality of the 427. Who wouldn't like to have a car like that! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

This thread as well as the original that introduced this car has hit the "Who cares" limit. The concept of this site is to share info about cars and talk about em. We all are interested in learning new things that's why there is so much interest in this car cause it might be something that none of us have seen before. This is exciting stuff but now this isn't going anywhere after endless threads. It would be so cool to find out about this car but it's apparently a big secret. I am bummed out and aggravated with the whole thing. We are not going to find out anything about it so let's end it. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif

Give him a chance??? He's had a hundred chances...He's basically called us all idiots for wanting to know what this yellow car even is, hides his trim tag at car shows, and continues to post pictures of his car with no info about what we are even looking at... as if his car parked beside a Yenko at a show somehow validates it as something special and we shouldn't ask any further questions. I agree, end this thread, and any future threads about this car, (since it rarely even continues in the same thread.) http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Hey Joe, Thanks for your opinion. It's good to see how each person reacts to being stimulated. As for ending this post; good idea, I'm tired of it too! As you requested about future threads and pictures, there won't be a need to. With GM not keeping records, there is and will always be un-answerable questions about "The Camaro", mine and others, that even a cowl tag will not prove or disprove. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif Think about it.

Well im sure that you think that your car is special, and to you i guess it is, but it dosent seem that anybody else here cares. So take your car and show it anyway/anywhere you want and enjoy it. It's your car and you can treat it anyway you want. I just don't see why you wanted to come here and not tell us about your car. What "i have a secret but i can't tell you attitude"...............go away!!

I really believe this is the owner of the Yenko Chevelle !!

It's a neat looking car. Nice stance and clean. I've never been much for yellow though (sorry Charlie http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif). And for a short time I actually thought it might be a real C.O.P.O with SS emblems added by the dealer or owner.. But that pic of the interior sure looks to me like it's got a 120mph speedo in the dash. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif
