Hello everyone!

After that spirited thread about the big block starter heat
shields last week ( thanks, BTW http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif), I thought I
might ask all of you to comment on another of the 69 big
block oddities.

I have always been of the impression that the original 1969
396 & 427 engine mounts were the style that had a threaded
hole in one end instead of the traditional through holes
found on later mounts. The latter style would use a long
bolt & nut combination, vs. the former ( original ) style
using just a long bolt.

The 69 assembly manual shows a mount with this threaded hole
and a long bolt with washers and what looks like a bushing
type piece. OK, I hate to ask this, but do any members here
have a original engine mount that they could post pictures
of here? It would be very helpful to see the bolt, washer,
etc. part of the mount as well. Much like the starter heat
shield, I have been searching for an NOS set or "suvirvor"
set of these for quite some time. Honestly, as I have
never seen one, let alone two, I don't know exactly what to
look for.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Steve

I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for, but this is a detail from my car when the motor was out of it last year. Hope this might help.

Sorry Andy, my fault for trying to be a better linguist. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
I'm referring to the rubber motor mounts, not the frame
mounts.

Does that make more sense?

Charley,
The pictures are absolutely awesome! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif
Exactly what I needed to see. Now, do you happen to have
the correct long bolt, whasers, etc. that you can post a
picture of? Again, this will enable me to identify the
correct parts when I find them.

Thanks,
Steve
