Lets stump JoeG.... I will be the first to start this new thread....ok Joe are you up to the challenge with your trusty mega collection of magazines?????.

I have one for ya and will even narrow down the year ...around 80/81 on the island back there....there was a article of a very wicked white '67 Camaro..I think it was the first door slammer in the 8's..it was in a off brand magazine it had a very healthy blown BB on alcohol?? it had some very cool pics of the car and one sticks in my mind of it leaving the line with the wheels in the air and it was about twisted in half..they ran it on the street $$$$$$$.

That was noted east coast engine builder Carl McQuillen's white 68 Camaro. Built from a really nice low mileage car. He went on to become quite the heavy hitter in the early days of the NMCA with a nitrous-inhaling rat motored 86-7 Olds Cutlass. Anyway, the Camaro was featured in Popular Hot Rodding in the early eighties and the launch pictures of the car trying to tear itself in half are very impressive. I'll try to dig up the exact month and year.
