Howdy,
I have a really nice 1970 4dr Nova that needs a new home yesterday… bought this car to resell it and fund my other projects..now I am not looking to rip anyone off just sell the car/parts at a fair price for the next guy…..
This was a little old lady car until 4yrs ago then the exchange student bought it and replaced the motor with an 80’s?? Light Blue 350, with an aftermarket Alum intake Edelbrock and Carter carb? Runs fine. It then has sat pretty much for two years as she gave it to another student and he was finally tired of moving it every three days where he lives…. they will tow a car if it sits to long on the street around the campus. So the car was started and moved every few days..a good thing!!
This car offers some really nice parts……
Complete front-end very nice, no rust in the fenders!!!
Nice subframe
Good running 350 4 BBL, with a power-glide that is getting soft
A/C car
Perfect BLACK A/C dashpad…
Almost perfect Black steering wheel.. one very small crack on horn shroud by button?? Otherwise Very nice, no cracks on rim.
Gauges are very clean and bright no fading..bezel is junk they screwed some stuff to the surface of it.
Perfect black front bench with headrest
Back seat has a couple of very small cuts
Complete BLACK 5 person seat belts with shoulder harness option as well, very nice set!!
BLACK FACTORY RUBBER floor mats front and back…almost perfect just dirty.. heal hole on driver side, and small tear where it meets the mounting area left front seat mount side other wise I thinks it is very nice..it has house carpet in the car so I had to try and cut it out to see the rubber mat.
That is just some of the nice stuff it has..there are many more black int parts and misc I am not thinking about.
Side note-----how ever it works out the power-steering box and pump is staying or being shipped back to me once they have the car home…I need it for another car here.
I would like $1700.00 for the car…..here are a few pics I have 20 plus to send so if you want some detailed pics let me know…..I stand behind what I say as the truth..my reputation is way more important than a few bucks.
Car is located in Bothell, Wa. Basically North Seattle, best to e mail with add below for quick replies.
Thnx Bud.

You must have felt the vibes today...I talked about blowing it up with a stick of dynamite for fun....Allen and I were just talking today about the fate of it ...I am almost caught up here at work so I can get this thing out of here and the Caprice back together to sell
poured some gas in the chop saw and warmed up the Impact ...I have tried to place the thing in a loving Nova family and have had no serious bites for the car or parts...I don't get it??? it has a nice front clip...near show set of belts..rubber mat..perfect window chrome perfect dash pad etc...unless its a Deuce there must be not much demand for nice Nova stuff....e bay here we come in a bajillion pieces.
Bud.

The floors are the same.... the bench seat bolts down in the same location..... I'd think that the rubber mat should be the same between a two and four door.

I agree, they should be the same.
Bud, let me know how much you want for it!

I would think the difference in the door length's would be enough to send a signal that a different floor pan & rubber mat would be necessary for a 4 dr car. The seat is located farther back in a 2 dr. thereby making the mat different in length from a 4 dr. Otherwise you would not have any foot room in the rear of the 4 dr. That is unless the wheelbase is quite a bit longer.
Just a thought from a old body shop owner. But I for one, hope that it is the same because, I know where there is complete 4 dr in a salvage near here.

Pantera,
The Nova's rubber mat is actually a two piece design, and the two pieces don't actually meet in the middle. UThere is about a 6"gap between the two halves, which is located under the front seat. I believe the wheelbase is the same for the 2dr vs. 4dr cars, the interior room is somewhat increased by a longer roof. It can be seen when you compare the angles of the windshields, the 4dr version is steeper, as are the vent windows, etc....
This coming from a newbie, who learned the hard way http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've parted out several 2 and 4 door Novas.... the wheel base and floors are the same.
Marlin is right on the other difference.... primarly being that the roofline is slightly taller and creates a different rake for the front and rear glass.
The differences that you see in the doors... the rear door nests up against the rear wheel house, so the two short doors fit where the one long and quarter sheetmetal are.
Other 4-door specific parts include...
A-pillars, B-pillar trim, front and rear windows, rear seat bottom, front bench seat, side door glass, vent window assemblies, and a few more little things.
Common parts between 2 and 4 door cars include the whole front end sheetmetal and trim, all dash parts, floor pan, trunk lid and rear stuff (bumper, lights, etc), drivetrain, driveshaft.

Yes, 69 and 70 mats are the same.
Have at it Bill, I was going to stash it, but you need it for your Deuce. It is unheard of to actually see one available for sale, so don't hesitate!

Bud, what is the interior code from the trim tag, I think I see a 731 design in that seat bottom!
budnate
11-20-2004, 02:49 AM
Trim tag photo is on first page and it is a 731 Int..front seat is smooth vynal for some reason??? recovered or traded over the years...back seat is correct 731 pattern..bottom has two small rips that may able to be faked by a real good vynal repair person but I need to double check but I think the back was perfect just dusty..car was very dirty from sitting under madrona tree's and the int was very dusty as well.. I did punish the car wash guys on the way home and drove it through twice...poor guys had to really scrubb to get all the black leaf stains off it..best 5 bucks I have spent in a long time.. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

You might... but a four door seat bottom is different. Corners are rounded. The seat back is the same though.
