Try this one, (and don't spend all day looking at the "Ladies of the SEMA Show" http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif)

Okay, after spending all day looking at the ladies of the SEMA Show I finally got around to the Leno Toronado.

You can see the bailing wire holding up the tailpipes. Look closely. If it wasn't for the redlines it'd almost be another ho-hum '66 Toronado. Until you hit the go-pedal. I'll bet it'd be fun to stab-and-steer this thing with the fronts billowing tire smoke. Kinda' like the Hurst Hairy Olds or the Tommy Ivo Showboat.

TJ thats a pusher not a puller !! No front smoke from that thing ! He must have went out drinking with Charley and LV to have that one...

Bill,
Read the article on the car - it's on a stretched Corvette chassis with rear drive. Still generate plenty of smoke with 1,000 hp 1,000 lb-ft!

Ohhh, you wanted us to READ about the car. Well, you had to go and mention those SEMA girls and after drooling over them my brain was on hold. I'll go back and read about the car. After I check out the SEMA girls again, that is. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Like I said the car is nice, BUT lets be real. I was at SEMA all week and the only reason I can see to have Jay and his car there was to take a little sting out of the Ford collection. The Ford section was by far more impressive and they will sell a ton of the new mustangs with some neat conversions offered also make them pretty cool. Die hard GM, but it was no contest at SEMA. IMO.

Bringing this thread back to life after all the discussion about the beautiful ‘66 TorOnado in the Vintage Certification display.

Funny this thread came up. I just came across my photos of it at the 2004 SEMA show and I'll post them.

I grew up across the street from the guy who designed the first gen Toronado. The guy was always bringing home unique cars!
