I have the standard black interior in my Z and the seats need new covers. I was wondering which company sells the best seat covers, not looking for cheap prices, I just want good quality. I have owned the car for 26 yrs and I hate to recover the seats, but it is time. Any advice

That is a very big problem, PUI that has the market cornered sells JUNK. There is no other word for it. Just try and find somebody to talk to about their so called product and you get the biggest runaround ever. I am so sick of thier games. I have talked to Legendary who makes great looking covers for MOPAR and other GM lines but not Chevrolet. They are considering doing Camaro, but the covers would be more money that PUI's trash. If the covers are excellent I would buy them. The only good standard covers I ever saw were from a company called Klemco in Ohio. If you are lucky enough to find a set of those somewere buy them. I could tell you exactly how I feel about PUI, but the post would be deleted....BKH http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Such a original car deserves NOS covers if anyone has them. However, keep in mind that after 35 years even NOS covers may not be pliable and suitable for your needs.
You might try Ricks First Generation Camaro for quality repop covers. www.firstgen.com (http://www.firstgen.com)
Good luck with your search.

They sell PUI...BKH
I've had some luck in the past with Crown.I think they are in Ohio,or Indiana?
They are PUI's wholesale competitor. They were willing to work with me before to custom make a better then repro design for a Chevelle I had.I paid a lot,but it was worth it.This was in the early 1990's.

NC GUY, thanks for the reply, I did alittle homework and Koch Corvette Interior makes covers for Camaros. They have the black standard front and back covers for under $200.00.
I talked with them today.

I bought a set of black houndstooth covers from Al knoch back in 82. They have been in storage ever since. Since PUI is JUNK http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif does that make the Al Knoch's valuable? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Kevin, it depends on weather or not you want to sell them, I need standard vinal covers.
what did you pay back in the 80's for those covers? The guy at Koch's was real nice and very informative.

Wayne, they are deluxe houndstooth. I bought them for a little over $400 back then. PUI was not in the picture. It was 2 buckets and a folddown rearseat. By mistake they sent me a 2nd set of buckets. Then years later I find out houndstooth did not come on convertibles, so I am going to keep the original deluxe comfortweave I have and use the extra set of buckets to fix the comfortweaves. The vinyl on the comfortweaves is ripped, but the inserts are fine.
