Thanks for everyones input to the post about the 68 ss numbers matching 396-325hp car. We picked it up yesterday. Car is even better than we thought. Runs great and is rust free. Trunk is as clean as i have ever seen. The blocked is stamped ET- is that for the 325 hp motor? Also who is the best source for parts ie carpet, seat covers, poss door panels? I have used year one and legendary for my mopars but i have never owned a chevy.. Got to start somewhere ha ha. thanks

ET engine code is for 1967 and 1968 396 (325hp) with TH400 transmission. Check out this link that will answer many of your questions on codes:

Cool, Another happy 68 Chevelle guy...
03A- 1st week of March- build date
68-13837- 68, SS-396 2 door coupe
Kan- Built in Kansas City, MO
765-A-black bench seat
D2-Grotto Blue Metallic with black vinyl top....

68 Chevelle build sheets are VERY rare. A few places to look would be: in/under seats, door panels, fenders, above fuel tank, under carpet, etc.
