Has anyone seen or have Marshal Chevrolet stickers? I have been told it would have been a black/silver or black/gold sticker used by Marshal on the 1969 and 1970 model years. I have two Marshal cars and would like to find or reproduce these stickers.

Hey Dave,
I actually met the guy who has the NOS Marshall decals, he wasn't planning on repopping them. Bummer. I have never actually seen one in person, only the one on the Yenko Chevelle in the August issue of SSDI.

Marlin, was the rear of the car shown in the article? Did it have a dealer emblem on the rear? Is this the 69 with the Marshal script on the doors?

Contact Marshall Chevrolet in Reading, Pa. You NEVER know. Good luck! Sam

yes, that's the article. Use that pic as a guide, and get them made up. It's an easy decal, plus, since there none to be found, nobody can really tell you it's wrong!

Marshall Chev. has not been in business for many years. I believe it's Golden Chev. now on Lancaster Ave. in Reading, PA.

I believe they had a metal emblem too, possibly a year or so before (?) I have one that I got at a PA swap meet a few years ago. All the other emblems the guy had were from PA, so I always figured it was from that dealership. It just reads "MARSHALL" in block letters. If you know someone who worked there, they may be able to verify the year(s) it was used.

Joe, was/is there a STAR on the emblem, like a Marshall's star? I think there is a star on the decal, and maybe on the door advertisement too.

No star, just block letters, all caps. If i had any desire to get off my as$, I'd go dig it up and take a pic, but I'm sure its buried under 1000 other useless pieces of crap. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

edit... I posted it already, long time ago... here is is again:

Last year I talked to the sticker owner. He said that he had no plans on having it reproduced. He said he would try to find it and contact me. He did not want the sticker to leave his posession. He never did call and I have since misplaced his number. He said it was a shiny black sticker with a silver or gold star and the name Marshal under the star. He believd that Marshal was using the sticker in 69 and 70. I believe he said he got the sticker with a 67-69 Camaro from Marshal.

Joe, At the Reunion, we took the metal script to compare it to my decklid. We found no holes in the logical places for the script. That also supports the use of the sticker in that period. I have also looked at the original decklid of my other Deuce for holes and found none. (Accept for the original Nova emblem)

I notice Joes has two "LL's,& your inquiry shows one "L" in MARSHAL..
Is it a different dealership you are looking for,or is it a Typo?

Oh yes... i remember you now.. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I really can't say for sure what year the emblem is from, it could be newer or older than the decals you are talking about. BTW, Marshall Chevrolet has 2 L's, at least the one in PA that sold Yenkos.

Today I called Golden Chevrolet. They confirmed that the Marshall dealership was bought up by them. The original Building is now the Honda Dealership. They are now located on the next block.

Great news, I found the phone number of the guy that has the Marshall emblem(sticker), I called him tonight and he has had a change of heart. He will let me borrow the original sticker to reproduce. He also confirmed that they used this emblem in 69 and 70. I hope he comes through with the emblem. He said it is chrome with black lettering. We will see. Thanks again

Hows this for a good day, I called the original owner of the Green Marshall Deuce. He remembered the name of the original owner 0f our Blue Marshall Deuce. He said he would make some phone calls and try to track him down. He said that he works with a guy that is friends with him. It would be nice to talk with him since we have very little history on that car. That would be like Christmas.

Dave,
I have the title search results for your blue deuce, but I think it's the same as what's on the title when you bought it? To my knowledge, Luther never transferred the title over to himself, just stuck the car in a building in the Poconos. My paperwork shows it was last owned by a couple in Collegeville, PA.

Frank, I purchased the Green Deuce from the original owner who lives in Reading PA. It has 60K original miles and is mostly unrestored. Marlin found the Blue Deuce when the former owner contacted hom trying to figure out hot to verify it's originality. It had no motor, the trans was in the trunk, and it had some floor rust. Marlin you are correct. Luthor had never transfered the title. Last night, after talking to the Marshall Emblem Guy, I called the original owner of the Green Deuce. While talking to hin, he remembered the name of the original owner of my Blue car, I was able to track him down today. He only owned the car for about 1 year but he did remenber the name of the second owner. He said that he had a local racer modify the car and it had been running low 11's. The racer was Carl Ruth. The car had been Dyno'ed and was putting out 378 HP at the wheels with 4:88 gears. The car is slowly being restored. I will attach pictures. The original owner will be scanning pictures and sendong them soon.

Very cool stuff Dave!
I remember seeing the ad for your green deuce within a month of purchasing mine, spoke to him for awhile - I think he wanted to buy a Harley or something? I believe you flew in and drove the Green Deuce all the way back to CO?

milehighdeuces
12-10-2004, 06:27 AM
Yes I did drive it home and he did buy his Harley.
Dave P.S. I can't figure out how to attach pictures. Any ideas from you pro's?

I Have It! I recieved the Marshall sticker in the mail last night. I will post pictures of Friday. I will have them reproduced. I can tell that the sticker is the same as the 69 Drag Illustrated article (Chevelle).

Oh I do like those slots. I ran Fenton aluminum slots on mine back in the day. Less weight= less recipricating weight=go faster, quicker. Those early rims wouldn't work with disc brakes. You had to run a spacer. Linin up those holes sucked! Never seen a blue deuce with slots on before. That is very cool!
