Here is a M-22 trans vin stamping. I can make out the "N" and a few numbers but am not sure just what it came out of?
You guys love to decode these things so here you go.

here is a different angle.
I notice that the last pic shows the square edge of the tool that held the stamps. I have had this under the work bench for a lot of years.

The "B" to me means M21.........

71 Camaro 11N55xx44, I'd guess 6 and 8 are the middle digits.
P1A14B - M21, built Jan 14, 1971
Had to be a hipo car, probably a Z, to get an M21.

That number is more like what I was thinking it was.. I had forgoten that the grove in the input shaft must make it a M-21.
I was puzzled by the 11 in front of the "N". I could see the 1 next to it as 1971. The extra 1 is usually not on a trany vin stamping?

Here is another one that is hard to read. Funny but they are easier to read when you take a pic of them.
This is just a M-20
S110732 P8A17 '68 Vette tranny unless I am wrong. this one does not have anything in front of the "S". Did they start this in later years?

That indicates it's a Chevy. 2 is Pontiac, etc. It's the VIN with digits 2-5 pulled out.
