She e-mailed me again and told me to get the charges to wire the money to spain. I told her I was near the bank in Ky and I would cash it there. The bank hasent been in operation for over2 years. Lets see what "she" will say next.

If you were in Illinois you could go to the East Bank of the Mississippi. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

I'm surprised they want the Western Union sent to Spain. Most of these bogus checks are from Nigeria.
(As part of Nigeria's "bail out" they received check printing machines from the Canadians and others, which were promptly heisted. Now the checks are being sent to us all - a nice "thank you" from the Nigerians, huh?) http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

I still think in the long run you'll find that the balance you sent would have ended up in Lagos.

I can make you up a bogus Western Union transfer receipt if you want some "payback." Make 'em run a little and then slap them when they protest.

Otherwise, destroy the check immediately, or go see your bank manager and have him/her stamp it "Fraudulent Item" or you could be arrested for mail fraud.
Seriously.

I reported it to www.ic3.gov. (http://www.ic3.gov.) Alot of good it will do. A freind of mine got the same check for a Volvo he is selling. He deposited in bank one. Ishowed him mine and he went off to the bank to stop it. Luckely he still has the car. If the check had a real sig. on it instead of a copy it would look almost real, except it is printed crooked on the paper. No word back from "jessica" after I said I would go to Peoples bank and cash it !TIM

Tim,
These guys don't want the car. They never do. It would mean exchanging paperwork and showing their faces to their victims.
They only want that forwarded balance.

I just got done wringing-out one scammer for 3 weeks and at the end I slapped him hard. This morning he wrote me an apology and explained how he had a boss (called an "oga") who had his thugs beat up my scammer and toss him out in the street when they found out he'd been baited by me.
He asked me to get him out of Nigeria before they kill him. I feel bad for the guy, but he knew what he was doing when he went into "The Biz."

...serves him right for trying to buy a frame-off '70 Chevelle LS6 for $2500.00
