Or in this case, State of the sYc.

As we count down the hours until the end of another year, I look back at 2004 and cannot believe the incredible year the sYc had. Thanks everyone. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

On Janaury 1 of '04, we had 1500 registered users, now we are at 1998, with 78 new registered users this month alone. During the early part of '04, we began accepting members and official sponsors, with the response over whelming. Because of this generousity, the sYc was able to update our BB software, and for SCR7, reserve additional room for cars, (which by the way was much needed, as SCR7 was home of the largest gathering of supercars EVER), lease Gateway International Dragway and have as our guests Ed Hedrick, Warren Dernoshek and Bob McClurg.
During 2004 the sYc held gatherings at numerous shows, including Carlisle, York US30, the Gibb Show, our own SCR and most recent, Vettefest, with member's cars receiving numerous awards. While attending these events, several members were asked to serve as judges and special guest speakers.
2004 was a very good year for member's cars to appear in the various magaines, with several shot during the SCR.

What does 2005 have in store for us? I predict in 2005 we will see the sYc once again be the leader in the promotion and preservation of the rare supercars. For the last several years our hobby has flourished like no other, and I see that continuing to happen, thanks in large part to the unselfish giving of our members.

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Tom and The Yenko Sportscar Club

It was definitely a GREAT year for me as well. Finally a Supercar owner, SCR7, the big race, new friends, good times, a lot more learned, and hopefully a get my car in that mag after it was shot at SCR7! I can only imagine what 2005 has in store! Thanks to all for a great year! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

I also want to thank Rob and Tom. Even though I don't have a Supercar..this site has tremendous information available to all! It also has members such as Mr. Sandlin, Mr. Suydam(anyone heard from him lately?) and Mr. Lillard...and yes even Bob(don't call me Belair anymore)Gagliano who really know their stuff...and are out there to protect the integrity of supercar collecting. The also have the ability to purchase and restore, or purchase and leave original some of the rarer cars out there...for later generations of gearheads to see! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

I've met people on this board who share my interests(anyone who has even a remote love of any high performance car should be a member here!)and I will get to meet them face to face at Barrett Jackson in a few weeks. I look forward to meeting all of you.

BTW, since I just joined officially as a member in December, do I have to re-up in January...or am I good until next December? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I hope that everyone has a healthy, happy and prosperous new year to come.

Bruce

It indeed does get better every year. I am happy to have met several new friends this year. This is a great car club family. But you know it's not always about the cars. I have had members help me with personal matters, prayers and etc. Some have opened their doors and welcomed me like we have been friends forever. To me that speaks volumes of the quality people here. Thanks to everyone! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif Hopefully this year will bring me another car to begin my "collector" status. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The highlight had to be Charley and Belair hugging at SCR7. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

To the Clary's and all who support them - you guys do a great job! Like many others I am addicted to this board and read it nearly every day. I can always count on the members to help out by sharing their expertise or sharing a resource for parts or services. The cars and people at SCR7 were just great, I definitely plan on returning to a future SCR!

Thanks a load from Seattle and keep up the great work!

I gotta say it has been a fun year. I wanna thank everybody for being pretty good people to hang out with. We all seem to share and help others. I think one of the greatest attributes is guys like Marlin helping people find and own Deuces. He could be buying and flipping them like crazy or even taking commissions on the stuff he turns people onto but he does not. The Deuce is one of the only Supercars left that is halfway affordable. My hat goes off to you Marlin, even though Frank beat you. I think this is the first year that Tom Clary did not have to come up with his own money to make the reunion work. Those of you that donated, thanks a bunch. This is not for profit, it is for the hobby. Even if you lurk here and couldn't donate you are still welcome. Try to come to the reunion next year and have some fun, even if you don't have a car. I hope everyone enjoys the site, including the occasional train wreck.

Yes another great year for the SYC. Like Frank and Joe, I too own a super car for the first time. With the help of the site and the encouragement of a few it finally happened. I would like to point out I have alway felt a part of this site with or without a super car. The Members Rides was a nice addition which allow everyone to share what they have. Looking forward to Carlisle, York and SCR8. Everyone have a healthy and happy New Year. BTW hows the tooth Charley???

After reading Mr. Lillard's post on how Tom Clary made reunions happen with cash out of his own pocket, here's my donation. I have been "lurking" here for free for a year now and it's been incredibly informative, fun, and even with some chair-throwing it's one hell of a fine car site. Keep up the EXCELLENT work guys and I look forward to another great year. There just isn't a better way to spend hours and hours in front of a computer monitor than here at Yenko.net.

YENKO DEUCE REGISTRY

It has indeed been an excellent year, and my most hearfelt thanks go to Tom & Rob for the time, work and effort that they put into this hobby! Also, special thanks to the moderators who truly have a thankless job in trying to keep us in line http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Nothing makes me happier to see the smile on a guy's face when they get their Deuce, and these past few years have been truly rewarding in that respect. Most notably would be MikeA with his silver deuce, and I will never forget the enthusiasm from Frankie and Brandon when they were getting their deuces in 2004, getting to meet several more Deuce owners like ScottS & Gregg, or seeing TomK seal the deal after years of effort, - how do you put a value on that?

A first for me in '04 was finally being able to bring my Deuce to an SCR! And what a race/show!! My thanks to all who helped make it happen.

2005 will only get better http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
