Man what I would not give for it to be summer again! We got a $hit load of snow here in the Chi-town area yesterday and the day before. This is what we have to deal with, all you guys in Cali, Vegas, oh and Hawaii count your lucky stars! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

This is my block.

This is out the back window of my building. Look at how high the snow is on the table. Has to at least be a foot. I know there are areas where there is a lot more snow but try driving in this in city traffic during rush hour! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

A taste of Chicago.

This is what most people do when they spend an hour digging out a spot on the street to park in. They use crates, chairs, etc. to save their spot. All I can say is DON"T be the guy that steals their spot! You will probably come out to see your car windows busted out or tires slashed! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thank god I own the building or I would be out on the street as well where your car is at serious risk of getting hit by a car or plow truck in this mess! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Hey Frank,
Even if they don't hit your car, it will get packed in so tight by the snow plow that you can't move it! When I lived in southern New Hampshire, teh plow would always come down our street right after I finished shoveling the driveway and block it up with compact snow and ice....ugh. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

One great thing about living in Seattle, you don't have to shovel rain!

Frank,

Look on the bright side!

The Sierras in Northern California are getting pounded with snow! Kirkwood Ski resort in the Lake Tahoe area got 110" from the last storm they had
and they have 119"-179" on the ground now at the BASE of the mountain...and it's snowing now!(that's 10-15 feet).
Click here for more info Kirkwood Ski Resort Snow Report (http://www.kirkwood.com/conditions.asp)

Damn, I wish I was there...though Flagstaff here in Arizona looks pretty good, too!

There, now don't you feel better? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Well Frank, the weather cycles are sure weird of late. Normally by early January we would have about 3 to 5 feet hanging around. However, so far this winter I've only had to blow out my driveway three times which included last night. Our precipitation this winter seems to be mostly comprised of freezing rain http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Snowing today in upstate NY, expecting about 4-6 inches. Was supposed to move some cars to a new shop today, that will have to wait until tomorrow. Come on spring!

you might have alot of snow but we here in sunny so calif are getting hammered by heavy rain. we've had heavy rain now for about 2 weeks and 3 back to back storms this weekend. this recent group of storms this weekend has had very heavy rainfall over 1-2 inches per hour or more and snow level down under 3500 ft elevation.the two major mountain passes "grapvine" and cajon pass" have been hit hard with snow and sometimes closed due to poor weather conditions. the local weather reports are saying we're at over 15" of rainfall for the season and still alot more to come.my condo has suffered water damage due to the on going heavy rain.the entry way flooded causing alot of damage to the interior walls and destroyed my carpet and kitchen floors.this winter has had some really weird weather patterns all over the country http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

You were lucky, I had to walk 20 miles each way uphill to school in the snow. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

In that '79 snow my Z-28 didn't get moved for almost a week, I walked the 3 miles or so to work for several days.

richp. I'll be in the Orlando area from the 20th to the 24th, other than Old Town are there any cruises/shows worth making the drive to on the Atlantic side?

My Dad had a beater 55 Chevy in 67, 6 banger and a 3 on the tree...he called it Betsy......it was the only car getting down Harlem avenue the day after the blizzard...we went to Grams house to eat....people literally abandoned their cars in the middle of the stret...I have a pic somewhere of it but can't find it.

Here is a picture of another garage in the backround that fell victim of the 1979 blizzard, the whole roof just caved in and the sides blew out and that is a red 65-66 plymouth fury 2dr if I remember correctly that you see that was in there at the time and it suffered major damage as you could imagine. This picture was taken on the nw side of chicago after the storm and when the alleys were finally cleared out so we could get our cars out of garage. That is my 72 340 cuda daily driver at the time in the picture.

The sun came out and we moved the cars today. Roads weren't bad but we put a double cover on the Novas to avoid road dirt and drove slow. New shop is great with radiant heat and security system. Not quite big enough for the whole fleet but good for the winter. Drove the Berger over because we couldn't flat bed it. People just stare when when they see that car. Hope all you boys are doing well.

well they just forecasted 36-48 more hours of heavy torrential rain here in so calif.it's been raining very heavy since thursday night and the ground can't take anymore moisture.there's been numerous mudslides an rockslides all over the place especially in the hollywood hills area. earlier today about 4pm we had a torrential downpour for a half hour and the drains could not keep up with the deluge.our underground garage started to flood and my camaro ended up sitting in 1' of water. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
