I was leafing through the article on Jeff L's orange COPO. On the cover is a beatiful shot of the grille and front of the car.I noticed his car has the SS style parking lamps...chrome trim around the outside. Not to question Jeff's car and I assume its corrrect, but were'nt they Malibus, and should recieve the non-SS lamps without the chrome trim..... or is this another COPO upgrade. Whats the general consensus. Getting ready to start the body resto on mine and want to line up correct parts. Thanks

Not sure what the consensus is on this but my Fremont built COPO Chevelle has the SS lenses...verified by early pics...and the Baltimore Y Chevelle has standard...

I think that kinda thing is pretty common...the COPO Chevelles were basically SS cars without the SS callouts...like the SS steering wheel, the SS wheels, if I'm not mistaken those have all been found on COPO cars originally...

What Rob said is correct... a COPO was much more of an SS than it was a Malibu... all external trim was the same as SS, with the exception of the SS emblems, and even these were found on the wheel centers of the 14" wheels. I think every COPO would have the stainless trim on the parking lights, as this went along with the rest of the "SS only" trim the COPO Chevelles recieved.
