COOL.....

Here are some pictures of my recently finished 70 SS-454 Chevelle ,LS-5 M-22 33.1 posi car I purchased the car in Nov of 99 in Harrisburg Pa. Car sold new at Vito Renaldi Chevrolet also in Harrisburg. In 2000 I began a frame off resto that consumed the better part of 4 years. No bolt was left untouched and the car is now better than new. It is documented with 2 build sheets and the POP. All numbers and dates are correct. Car is equipped with LS-5 engine, M-22 trans 331 posi, bucket seats, guages and cowl induction hood The color is a uncommon one...Misty Turquiose. The entire restoration was done in my garage in my backyard. Thanks

ALbert

Al,
Again I say you did an excellent job on the car especially considering the area had to work in.

Looks like an AACA badge. Nice Chevelle, color looks great with the vinyl top. looks sorta like 1969 Azure Turquoise.

Is that color also known as Astro Blue or are they two entirely different colors? Beautiful car you must be very proud.

Beautiful car and color.

1996Z15 - Yes, they are different colors. Misty Turquoise is code 34 and Astro Blue is code 25 on the cowl tag.

Albert: What is your guess for a 1/4 mile time for your car? Low 14's? I haven't seen any test reports from 1970 where they ran the LS5 in the 1/4 mile.

Thanks guys...lots of hard work in that one..I stumbled across it while looking for a LS-6.Fell in love with the color and had to have it. OK now to answer all questions MR70..Baltimore 03C,,and the badge is a AACA senior award won this year at Hershey. SS4real..have not even had the car in 4th gear. SHe is a true trailer queen (for now or until the COPO is done) but the torque from that motor fries those wide ovals at will in first or second gear, so I'll figure at least low 14's if there is any traction. Distributor and carb were done by Jerry Mcniesh and are right on and that helps out alot. Maybe this summer I'll cruise it but for now its my showcar. Glad you all like it.

Very cool car, Al. I love that color and agree that the black top really makes a nice combo with the color and stripes. I really love the non-console interior also.

Al, I love your Chevelle. It is certainly set apart with that color combination. Very classy car. In the distant background of picture #2, is that your 1968 Chevelle also? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

GM 26, thats my neighbors car..completely restored numbers matching 68 SS -396 Chevelle. We were both taking pictures for AACA national awards to send to the awards commitee. We did frame offs at the same time and helped each other as we went along. He painted this car. Debuted the cars at the same shows this summer. Met him 5 years ago on a sunday morning at a red light...me in my 68 SS camaro and him in his 69 SS-396 Camaro..we dragged and have been best of freinds ever since... best part yet..he lives two blocks away. Where else can you find someone to help out at 10PM on a weds night..just a phone calls away .

I REALLY like that color. Wonder why everyone didn't get one that color?
It's kinda similar to the Island Teal Metallic on my 68 only a little more green.

Not a car I would have expected to find at a Kruse auction in Tulsa, OK, that's for sure! It was like a magnet, just kept drawing me back 'til I finally gave in. Told myself before we went that I wasn't going to buy anything, just couldn't help it! It's a beauty, the color is mesmerizing and the resto...well, hat's off to Al! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

Beautiful car Albert. I have a '70 Chevelle that had the same original color with a black interior & black vinyl top. It had been repainted & vinyl taken off, molding still present. After refurbishing the car I'm ready to paint the car & after seeing your car am convinced I need to go back to it's original color scheme Misty Turquoise. Did you use any special tinting to code 34? Or did you use a standard paint code? Thanks for your help.
