I was always late for school because of that man! Those 90 minutes were the best of the day when I was growing up. I can still hear my father yelling at me to turn off the little 13" b&w tv. We will all miss the King of Late Night. Here's to you Johnny http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Hopefully they run an all day special on his life and recap some of his shows. Some of the best times of my youth were spent on the couch watching his shows. There will never be another one quite like him.

He had some great guests on his show. The infamous conversation that he had with Zsa Zsa Gabor. "Johnny, would you like to pet my p$ssy?" and Carson responded,"Sure, if you move that damn cat out of the way!". There are countless others. A brilliant man.

He once said that he wanted his tomb stone to read "HEEEERE'S JOHNNY".
Hope he gets his wish, and that he will be long remembered.

I like this quote too.
"he once joked he wanted "I'll be right back" on his tombstone."

He was talking about marriage once (married 4 times). He was going over the silver anniv., gold, diamond etc., and he said he's in the Formica stage. LMAO at the time. He had a great way of telling jokes. Miss his show.

There have been, are, and will be many imitators - but none will ever equal him. Truly one of a kind. Godspeed, Johnny http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

Like Letterman said "everybody including me are all pretenders, Johnny was the real deal."

All the shows on DVD would be cool, no commercials - awesome!

They do sell "Best Of Johnny" on DVD etc. right now,but I would much rather watch the original 90 minute shows in thier entirety on network prime time TV,with old commercials still attached from those days. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I'd bet that would challenge the ratings of watching people eat Cow testicles today! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

David Letterman did a nice from the heart show lastnight reflecting Johnny Carson.
One funny story,Johnny picked up the restaraunt tab for Letterman & staff years ago thinking it was just 4 people, not realizing it was the entire patio party of 80.
The final party bill was $10,000.00. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif
