Ok members, is there a difference in dollar value between having factory paperwork vs dealership paperwork documenting desireable musclecar models.

I would assume those fortunate enough to have both, would be the luckiest of course.

I think you probably mean things like build sheets, window stickers, POP instead of order invoices, or delivery invoices. Yes, the factory paperwork always carries a premium and the paperwork can be more valuable than the car. A '67 L88 without the original engine that cannot be verified as an L88 would be worth a fraction of the same car with a tank sticker or window sticker. If this car had a dealer sales invoice, it probably would not be worth nearly as much as with factory paperwork. Hope this is what you were asking. It is to the point where factory paperwork is worth more than the original engine on hi performance cars.

Tim:
Yes, your thinking follows the lines of my thoughts as well. I know with Ford, Chrysler & AMC, engine codes in VIN's for many years meant that factory documentation was not as critical, as it was for GM divisions during the "muscle car period".
I too, believe that factory paperwork should bring the highest premium for the rarest of rare musclecar models.

Yes, I too was very fortunate to acquire good paperwork documentation with my L78 Camaro convertible. The car had the Chassis Broadcast Copy off the gas tank and the Dealers Sales Invoice sheet from the selling dealership.
