Good afternoon, my litle brother just traded for a Chevy S10 truck which we will be building for bracket/street racing. This truck came with a freshly machined block, stock rods,12:5:1 pistons and a crank. The crank appears to be a 302 (which is what we were told it was) but my brother really wants to have someone run the numbers on the crank to be 100% positive. The block is supposed to be a 350 block.....but my brother says it looks more like a 327.

We'd both greatly appreciate someone checking these numbers for us:

crank: 3735236 226

block:
3903352
TiiiiKL

THANKS for any and all help! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Sorry Brian. The 3735236 was a 283 crank used from 58-62. Forged Steel with 2.30" Mains, 2.00" Rods and 3.00" Stroke.

The Block is a 67 year 327 used in the Big cars, Chevelle, Camaro and Corvette. The HP ranged from 210 (Camaro), to 350 (Corvette).

The "KL" designation indicates a 67 Full Size 327/275 with Turbohydramatic.

Looks like someone "made" a 302 by installing the 283 crank into the 327 block.

Ed, thanks for the help. I just talked with my brother and conveyed the info. He's not all sad about the crank not being an actual 302 .......simply because if it had been we would have had a tough time deciding wether or not to actually race that crank.....or sell it to someone building a real 302...lol.

I appreciate the help though....THANKS for the FAST reponse! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
