Does anyone know of any documented 1967 Baldwin Motion cars of any model that still exist?

I think there are a couple out there. I know the only Phase III SS427 '67 Chevelle was just found recently. (of course you already know that.. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif) I don't think any of the '67 Camaros have surfaced, that I know of anyway. The Ko-Motion '67 Vette still exists somewhere. Thats about all I know on the '67s. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

BTW, Any updates on that Chevelle? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

My Chevelle and Ko-Motion are the only 67 BM's I know of either. There were at least two '67 BM Camaros built, but their whereabouts are unknown. In speaking with Joel and Marty, I do know VERY few 67 BM cars were built as the program was just getting started. My Chevelle was deliver in August of '67. In '68 the program picked up momentum and there were more built. I know of four legit '68 BM Camaros that have been found.

Was the car on EBay awhile back with the jackass of an owner a real car?

I wonder what became of this car. I think it was the first B-M '67 Camaro 427 conversion. Note 350 emblems and bare-bones trim level (no Style Trim--wheelwell chrome, driprail chrome, pinstripes). Car had a crate L88 installed for the article from which this photo is from. Baldwin salesman Dave Bean stands with car in front of the showroom.

Same car in color from magazine cover. Tahoe Turquoise. Note hood emblem cropped and added to grille by magazine photo editor. Mags were International 14x6.

Same car with Joel Rosen and crew. Note "427" emblem applied to SS hood.

Crooked 427 emblems. You mean things weren't perfect back then?

The July 1979 edition of "Street Racer" has an article by Rick Berliner about Reb Brown's SS RS '67 Camaro titled "Motion Performance Hugger", The article describes the car as an original Motion 427 Camaro race car. With lettering that could still be seen under the current paint.

Stefano, good to see you posting. I've seen the article you mentioned, but the car seems to be long gone. Reb Brown no longer owns it.

I have a freind that is looking to purchase a "possible" '67 Motion Camaro.
He asked me a couple of things to determin if it was real, in which I replied,"Without paperwork it is almost impossible."
The one thing he said is that the car is a Big block, Tri-power, 4 speed.
He is going to try to get some pics & info this week.

My question is, "Did Joel ever leave or put a tri-power on these early cars?" http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

COPO

Normally Motion got rid of the tripower set-up amd replaced it with a single 4, so I would say it is doubtful, but you never knows. I sure wouldn't buy it based on that info alone.

Be carefull. Everybody that has a car with a part or two that could have come on a Motion wants to try to cash in on the craze and get the big $$$$ for their cars.

I have a '72 Vette that has a pop up gas cap that came from Motion. Wonder if that makes it worth $100,000 ????? I don't think so. (But I am open to close offers if anyone is interested).

I know the original owner of the car and he ordered the gas cap from Joel and put it on his basic stock burnt orange, 350ci vette with auto trans. Then he had it painted black with a set of dish mags.

Without the paperwork from Joel you only have a car that is worth what someone is willing to pay and no where near what a real documented Motion car is worth. So make the owner prove it or else be prepared to take a big hit in the pocketbook.

I am sure that Joel is really tired of every body thinking they have one of his cars. Good Luck with this one.

I had discussed a tri-power set-up with Joel/Motion when I had ordered the car and though it does look http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif under the hood , it was decided to go with the 3 barrel for all out performance with the 456 rear. --But if someone wanted this set-up no matter what ,it could have been put in, Motion did do several articles on dealing with any tri-power gremlins----------I know Nickey advertised and put them in--I think also there is a Dana with A TRI-POWER setup---I never read about a MOTION car having one new or never seen one, but I've learned to say "Never say Never"---But I would think Motion would have tried to talk you into using a 4 or 3 bl-carb.------------

I believe the orange (spec. order paint) one is a Dana car. The Yellow one to it's left is a Motion car and has a single 4 bbl..

It's a sharp looking 67 Chevelle and I really like the license plate, but it's clearly a far cry from a real BM Chevelle. At the moment, there's only one real and documented '67 BM Chevelle and it's sitting in a shop in VA. I hope your friend is not trying to pawn it off as a real one.

There were no Phase III Chevelles Camaros or anything in 1967

as far as I can tell, the Phase III option came out in 1968

I saw the car a few months ago and it is coming along nicely. Rolling chassis all done along with the drivetrain, but don't know the ETA for the completion of the restoration. Kevin H. is presently the owner of this documented '67 BM 427 Chevelle. Ricky Smith in VA is restoring the car. Get in touch with one of them and they may be willing to share some information. Car has amazing documentation and purchased from a friend of the original owner. Car was also featured in numerous magazines back in the day, so no question how it was delivered to the original owner straight from Baldwin / Motion. Car was running 11's and later 10's. Truly a historic car from the era.

I purchased a 1969 corvette on Long Island a few years ago from a women it was her husbands car and he had passed away . When I was in the garage she had other cars and she took me over to his tool box and she had the original paperwork and magazine article for a 1967 motion camaro of that her husband bought new . He was the owner of several nice cars back in the day . If anyone has an original 1967 motion camaro I can give you this women's number to see if the paper work belongs to your car .
