Well, a Motion car is getting a raw deal . . .
No slicks, no nitrous, no electric fuel pump (unlesss it's quiet), traction bars are questionable, no headers allowed, stock carb (holley 3 bbl), and the air cleaner is just beggin to start on fire!

Factory lightweight cars, COPO, dealership cars such as Grand Spaulding, Nickey, Creative Industries, Baldwin Motion, Hurst, Yenko, and/or Clone cars are welcome to compete. All cars must follow the following “Factory Appearing” rules. No exceptions.

That last line kinda eliminates the dealer cars...
That screams,"Extrude Honed Welcomed!" http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Extrude honed is very welcome!! Any internal mods are legal as long as the outside looks stock.
The dealer cars are welcome and legal as long as they follow the tire rules. This is the only factory appearing venue that is welcoming them, now they have a place to PLAY!!!

Sounds like a class for my 69 COPO clone Camaro.
I will go to Stanton and Norwalk, that's about it. Everything else is too far! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

You have to run the poly glas tires that they came with. You can run 3 events before you have make changes to the car to follow the rules so bring ot out and give it a try, what the Milan event?

I'll be at Milan if they have a factory stock class. If so, when? The green Yenko on this site is also planning on going to milan for some test and tune. I will be there also to run with him. I'll keep ya posted!

Hey Joe...if you're factory stock, you're best bet would be the Pure Stock Drags in Stanton...

The Milan race is in June, it is on the NSCA site.
Hey 454, "factory Stock" isn't the name of the class, it is actually "factory appearing". None of our cars in FA would make the tech in pure stock. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Yeah, I know what "Factory Appearing" is, as I've ran our Pure Stock Camaro at every Stock Appearing (read: F.A.S.T. or F.A.D.) event but a couple since the class' inception a few years back...but he mentions "Factory Stock" which is a Pure Stock class, so I *assumed* he'd be legal for the Stanton Pure Stock event...

Oh yeah Rob, you are definately a veteren!!
You were running a 70 Chevelle back in 2000 when the FAST boys were still trying to be pure stock legal, didn't a current FAST car win that event, 72 Buick?

Oh geez, the Chevelle...seems like ages ago! I had some major electrical fits that weekend...I think we worked the entire weekend on that thing. There was a whole wad of the current F.A.S.T. guys there that year doing what they do best...I guess I can say I was a part of history! LOL!! And that Buick...was it the Chamberlands? They used to have 2 cars there every year, but I haven't heard from them in a while...http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

It was Greg Gessler, he won with like a 12.4+ something.
That was right around the time that FAST started and a few guys never came back.

Ahh, Greg...couldn't remember if he was there that year or not. I can't remember how many of the guys got bounced that year because of refusing to P&G and that type of stuff...but boy were they puttin' down some times! But then those same guys got together and started FAD (which morphed into FAST) and had their first event at Norwalk...at which, of course, I munched my trans first pass out! 18 hour drive down the drain...

Can i just come out and race with you guys? I'm going to put a set of 9.0 slicks on the car and give it a shot! I ran it last september at Milan for the muscle car day deal. I had the BF goodrichs on and NO traction. I just left it in drive and rolled it out until it hit drive and mashed the pedal. It turned 13.2 112. I'm just out to have some fun! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Maybe we can setup a day for just racing for fun, put the slicks on and run what ya brung! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif

The Pure Stock organizers have the track rented for the day, so unless you meet the Pure Stock rules, then you're outta luck...but, the track has a pretty big event immediately after the Pure Stock happenings are over on Saturday, and a few of the PS guys stick around and run it as well...

Well that sounds good, i'll come and watch the show and then do a little racing with the boys! Will you be there? What kind of car do you have 454?

I've been there the previous 6 years, so I don't reckon this year will be any different! Look for the Daytona Yellow '69 Yenko Camaro...
