i am new here and have met alot of members at the SCR last couple of years.i bought 2 l78 post sedan cars off ebay. one is 72,monaco orange 4-spd,kk 4-10 rear.this car was from the pittsburg area, story i got is that i could have belonged to one of the pitt. pirates back in early 70's.don't know if it is true.it has the aluminum trim around the post area and windows and had the white ss stripe.someone had flared the quarters at one time and the car was hit on the pass. door/quarter area.
the other one is a 76 daytona yellow with window trim 4spd and kk4-10 rear.this car was in the New jersey area and last registered in albany New York in 1993. the car was painted black and some ss trim was removed to look like a sleeper car. this car was definitly a race car at one time. i was hit in the pass. fender at on time.
i am looking for anybody that might have know of these cars or any info about them . thanks for any help with these cars greg cullum

Welcome aboard Greg, http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif its about time you got off your ass and started to post info about these cars.... Now maybe you can get Dan V. off the sidelines as well. Instead of you stealing part of Johns name, you should have called yourself the POSTMASTER considering you have how many???? 3,4,7??? I cant keep track.. Mark

Hey Mark, I only got back on the sight to defend myself...I was on the sidelines working on a particular hood that you should be familar with. Oh yours is not finished yet, well you should get that Corvette out of the garage so you can finish the wife`s car.

Great cars, Greg. Try to post some photos. Those 1969 SS396 300 sedan cars are really neat especially in the fact that they were one year only cars. I remember one of these cars in our area back in the early 90's. It was at a small body shop in Arnold on Telegraph Rd. right before you cross the bridge into St. Louis Co. It was a factory yellow 1969 SS 396 sedan(missing motor) that had been painted purple. Car was for sale for $400 and parked next to it was a very highly optioned, and restorable but complete 1969 RS/SS 396 Camaro. By the way guys, Greg builds great race transmissions and has done them for every single race car I've ever owned.

Dan, I'm glad to see you poped your cherry on my account, and I know you did alot for me and Greg with those hoods. I just like giving you s--t, considering you give me the same s--t back... By the way Rick, this site has been going down hill way before Greg and Dan jumped on http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif, maybe they can shed some light on the 1969 Post Car world... I'm just glad to see both of them on the site and hopefully they wont get shy on us again...

Greg, were these cars in the Buffalo NY area when you got them? The owner is a friend of mine and offered them to me, I almost pulled the trigger on getting them because of the colors, but with the condition and no documentation I passed. Glad to see your going to do something with them.

that is the 2 cars.i got them from Carlos Cendeno.i got them also because of the colors.i have 7 different 69 chevelles and my biggest problem with them all is docs.i cant seemed to find a build sheet anywhere. i am just going with the idea of single 3/8 fuel line and 4:10 rear.a friend of mine from chicago saw a black COPO 69 chevelle you did and said it was PRIMO.i was going to call you and talk to you about some restoration work if thats alright.you know these cars need about every piece of sheetmetal, but i had 3 NOS sets of quarters and fenders saved up and some cherry trunk pans so i thought this would be a couple of good cars to use them up on.thanks for the reply greg

Greg,
Good luck with your 'velle projects. Way to jump in w/ both feet. My '69 L78 coupe is an M21, KK rearend, Olympic Gold, black bucket interior w/ 71k documented original miles and was delivered to Colussey Chev. in Bridgeville, PA (suburb of Pgh). My Mom and sister live within 5 minutes of the dealership. The engine, tranny, and rearend are original to the car. Colussy is still in business today (although they moved down the street a bit). You may want to check with them (probably a needle in the haystack, but this was not too far from Forbes Field where the Bucs played at that time). I plan to contact them to fill in a few more gaps with my car. The 1st owner was a returning Vietnam Vet pilot whose family owned a Quaker State Service station. He took good care of his car (each oil change, service, and repair was recorded in the owner's manual). I am still tracking him down, but have spoken to two of the former owners to date. I am fortunate to have 2 partial buildsheets, the owner's manual with all services/repairs recorded and the POP for this car.
Will try a link to my 69 velle L78:

Good luck,

Rick,
Thanks for the kind words about my Butternut Yellow Chevelle...But for once your data base is incorrect. This is why you should remain a 70 expert and stay far away from us 69 experts. Ha,HA. Your are mistaking my Butternut car with my other two 69 Post Sedans.
Rick are you bringing your BM sign to Vette Fest again?
Sam, Great looking Olympic Gold L78...I love that color. How far are you from the Barrett-Jackson sight. If possible I`d like to see the car at next years show.
Dan.
oops..then Paint it BY! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Don't call me the "E" word.
No I won't be able to go to VF next month.

Greg,
BS's were with the car. Oly gold has really grown on me. Looks great in the sun especially and you don't see many muscle cars in that color. Am still doing research to fill in gaps. Will tell the whole story when I get to the bottom of things. Have talked to 2 of 5 previous owners so far. Sam

What a cool selection of 69 Chevelles we have on the board copo, L78 conv, L78 hardtop, L78 post, and last but not least 69 Bm car are we missing anything.
