View Full Version : My Classic Car TV to be at SCR8
I am pleased to announce that Dennis Gage, host of My My Classic Car TV , will be one of the special guests at SCR8, with his crew filming a segment to be aired in 2006. This is a return engagement for Dennis and MCC, as they were in Nashville for the very first Supercar Reunion. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
The majority of filming will be done on Friday at the race track, so guys and gals, you have 7 months to get that supercar dialed in. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

This will finally put to rest a theory I've always had.
Notice you never see Tom Clary & Dennis Gage in the same place. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Thanks Steve. I was surprised, but delighted, that MCC would return, After all, they only do 13 new episodes a year. Just goes to show how popular these rare Chevy supercars are, and, how much of an impact racing at SCR has on the hobby. Dennis told me that MCC is not really into indoors shows, but would rather shoot outdoors, often times track side, where the action is. I assured Dennis that there would be plenty of action during SCR8 at Gateway.
Now I guess would be a good time to start signing up cars for the Deuce shootout. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
Maybe we could do some sort of a Dcik Harrell shootout, with my funny car, Howie's '70, Joe's '69, Morrison's '68 and one or two from the Vegas area. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Thanks JD, Joe, Jeff and Chris...I've been shopping for another Yenko Camaro for a year, or so. I'm glad I waited for this particular car, having passed on 5-6 others in the last 10-12 months. This 20,000 mile car comes with it's original drivetrain and interior, plus there's gobs of paperwork and documentation. There's even a picture of Don Yenko himself with this car from back when it was new. Evidence of a racing roll bar is confirmed by the holes in the floor and wheelhouse, so it's fortunate that the original engine, tranny and rearend survived. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif
The picture that Joe posted is from SCR3, when Ron and Pam Vorhees owned the car. With some reluctance, Pam agreed to sell me the car, and I thank her very much for her willingness to let the car go to a new home. Don Clark was especially helpful with getting this deal done. Don is a collector, enthusiast and a sYc member and this deal would NOT have happened without his help and cooperation...so special thanks to you, Don! I should also mention that Tom Clary played a role in what must have been providence that the car was made available to me. Also, thanks to Dennis Carpenter for making the "closing" convenient and fluid. Other forum members involved in this endeavor include Brian Henderson, Marlin Spotts and Chad Blomberg...thanks guys! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif
It is truly a pleasure to be a part of a group like the sYc, where helping others is both spontaneous and unconditional. Except for the giving and willing attitude of so many friends here, this car would not be headed for Las Vegas. On not a single occasion, over the last several months, did anyone ask for anything in return for helping me pursue this end...not once! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

So, anyone got any suggestions for the "big block" shootout at SCR8? The Deuces kinda got their thing off and running, so we need something for us BBC guys...street tires, or no tubs, or anything goes, or don't sweat the details? LV says he's in with the '70 DH car, I'm sure our yellow car wouldn't mind stretching it's legs, Dru and Gerling are gonna be hot-lapping their cars anyway so they might as well join in, and the Hassetts have already said their '68 BM car WILL be in tip-top shape and takin' names this year...

Some neat big blocks mentioned above, but that "anything thing" goes could get interesting with a dose or two of superstock/prostock cars. You got Barnhart in his orange crate ZL-1, Howie in his "purple powered" machine, Porterfield has been known to show up in ZL-1 #1, and there is rumor of another "built" car or two showing. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
And speaking of Howie and the "Purple Power" '70 Camaro, he has already started talking smack, trying to "set me up" by telling me no way could he run with my funny car, that it was too light, too quick, too fast, yada, yada, yada. That is the oldest trick in the book. Sorry Kim, not buying today. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif
