66 Corvette Conv't 427/450/M22 - Value

I am looking at a 66 Vette convertible, Rally Red/ Black, two tops, 44K miles, same owner over 30 years, orig interior, repainted in 91,, sidepipes, KO's with Goldlines, L72 450HP (early car), has M22 rock crusher ( <font color="blue">only 15 ever built </font> ), F41, power brakes, etc. Not a show car (won many local shows) but extremely nice - minor paint flaws, needs detailing. Has the original Window Sticker confirming options but engine was decked when rebuilt and has correct casting and dates codes but serial numbers now gone and the owner stamped his name on the pad. Owner said this was done many years ago before he got it when no one cared about numbers. Any idea what a rare car like this is worth with the M22 trans and confirming window sticker?

60K is my guess, but I might be low..That window sticker is cool.

M22 in 1966 is VERY rare with docs to boot is KEY! But if you want to restore the car and make it an NCRS/Bloomington car your going to have to address the motor issue-- big time. I would say $50K-$60K --

I'm driving to east Texas today to look at a '66 L72 roadster that is a survovor car. It is supposed to be an original paint unrestored car with a POP. The colors are great and it is suppposed to be a factory sidepipe car (I'll check this out closely). It is priced at $80,000.
If the car you're looking at has the M22 option and it is documented with a window sticker, you had best buy it.
The M22 is an indication of an unusual and rare car.

The numbers decked off numbers on the pad may be able to be brought up by the heating and acid technique that has been discussed in length before.

------Personally, I dont think the pad is as important as Mosport. If the dates and the casting numbers are in line Id leave the guys name on the pad. You can still top-flight the car with it that way and it IS a part of the cars history. The key to this car is the M22 and the window sticker. If either one of these is false the cars value is far less. I would generally agree with the values that the other posters have given..........Bill S

Thanks for all the responses. The prices seem to be in line with where I can purchase the car. The original window sticker verifying it could be one of only a few M22 cars left out of the total production of 15 is what I was most interested in. Getting the engine pad restored would just be icing but the sticker proves what the car is. Original sidepipe and KO car is also cool. Thanks.

Just a word of caution.........sounds like a GREAT car, price estimates being discussed on this thread sound correct, just be ABSOLUTELY sure on the authenticity of that window sticker since there is the decked block issue. A super rare and desirable car but perform "due diligence" prior to pulling the trigger. While most repo window stickers are easily identified, I have seen a few that are so close it's scary.
