Looking for any leads on Mancuso Chevrolet located in Skokie. I found a Mauro Chevrolet that recently became Sharp Chevrolet still in business, but not sure if this was Mancuso Chevrolet at one time?

What do you need ??? It was in the next town over and I know they sold plenty of Hipo as well as being in the Yenko Deuce network...know a couple of nice cars that came out of mancuso...in fact I was on the way to Sixtiesmuscle's house a while back and pulled up behind an older gent driving a mid 70's Vette with the Mancuso shield on the back ...

That is a well known name around here for decades.
To add to what Bob said,I remember they used to be at 4700 Golf rd.Dealer 359,zone 11 in the early 1970's then 8130 Lincoln Avenue in Skokie, from some paperwork I have on them.
Then later still at 501 Green Bay rd. in Wilmette.
That later became Mauro Chevrolet is at 4700 Golf rd. in Skokie.,& now today are Sharp Chevrolet at that same address.

Now that I'm thinking about it...I think the Ferrari dealer in Lake Forest is owned by Mancuso family !!! I don't recall the Lincold site being a dealer..it may have ben a holding lot or something..

Yes, they are one and the same. It became Old Orchard Chevrolet once Mancuso sold it, then Mancuso bought the Chevy dealership in Wilmette,if memory serves,it was called North Shore Chevrolet.

The service department at that dealership had some very old files at least up to Mauro's Ownership.

Rick's dad owned Mancuso Chevrolet. As mentioned, Rick owns LF Sportscars which, prior to Ferrari/Aston franchise, sold cool old Vettes and stuff (prior to that was Ford dealership at Western ave. location). Think Rick may've raced a Vette or two back in the day (Greenwood?).

Cool Deuce memorabilia, Frank http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif I like how the flyer promotes the "gas saving, small 350 cubic inch power plant" http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Sorry for the late response. I got that from Marlin.

Are you serious or joking about Cumby? If that is true that is one of the coolest things that I have heard in a while! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Frank, he gave me that in Laharp 2-3 years ago. I sent a copy to Marlin. Couldn't remember if I sent one to you or not. He really was wanting a hi po small blk nova before he bought the chevelle from Gibb. Actually I think he still does. I like the sentence where Rick Manquso says something like "we can get you whatever you want". Very cool.
Where is ol Cumby anyway? Hope he's not out chasin skirts. If he catches one, we may need to kick in for a defibrillator. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

That is VERY cool! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif Dennis tell us more! Why did you choose to write Mancuso instead of the other IL Deuce Dealers? What did you initially write to Rick Mancuso?

Yea, that's Cumby! He sent me a bunch of colored copies a while back, and so they are now part of the 'Deuce Book'.

Do you like the part about the 'plenty of back seat too' http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Of the three deuces sold out of Mancuso, only one is found - original owner to boot!

Sure is, but right now I'm still working on the backlog of books that I owe to 'new' Deuce owners. I prefer to give them to the owners in person, so sometimes if I'm going to meet someone unexpectedly, I'll grab another's book and deliver it over a beer.

When I'm caught up, I'll do some spares and send one over http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I grew up not far from that dealership. Dated a girl that lived right around the corner from them and I'd stop over there quite a bit. In 1977, they were selling a used 1971 ZR1 Corvette that they ordered new. Now, a ZR1 was not available with luxury options like power windows and radio, but this one had these options and it was documented on the original window sticker. Mancuso Chevrolet special ordered the car and Chevrolet allowed it. It was silver/black leather with a hardtop. I visited with Rick on the car and certainly didn't have the $15,000 asking price.
On another note, Rick Mancuso just brokered (deal finalized Friday) the sale of a one owner, 2,300 mile 1969 L88. A local Austin, TX friend purchased the car from Rick Mancuso's Ferrari dealership. Here's a link, it has not been removed. Here's some pictures of the one owner, 2,300 mile L88. This car has the window sticker, POP and order invoice (scratched off the side pipes)
