Just wondering if anyone is familiar with this car or has any thoughts.

Thinking about trying to make a deal for it.

This may be a stupid question.... but... Why does it have the convertible brace underneath? Just an extra precaution that this guy took to ward off body twist?

Nice to see a '68 RS with the silver horizontal grille bars. Seems like one of those often-overlooked details.

Love '67-69 SS 396 cars without spoilers. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

(I know Budnate, I know, you prefer spoilers! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif)

Looks like a drop top floor to me. Funny looking xmember and trans for a 4 speed big block. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Crossmember almost looks like a SB unit. Isn't the BB X-member's tranny bolt hole offset to the right side? The convert brace might have been added by the dealer or an owner to stiffen the car up a little. My buddy's '67 396/4-speed Camaro would pop-open the pass door as well as the glovebox door under a firm launch. Maybe this car saw some hard work in its early years (NO!) and that's where the brace came from. Also, what's that square plate ahead of the X-member? Almost looks like an auto-trans pan even though it's clearly a manual car.

Thanks for the feedback. I spoke with the guy and he wasn't interested in dealing.

I'll just keep looking.
