A fine example of what disappoints me with this hobby. Oh well. Still a neat car. Would be nice to see it in the hands of someone who will appreciate it for what it is and not for how much it is worth.

That sucks. I noticed the HI tags in the trunk. Get the Plate number and the VIN and check with the HI DMV if theres any back taxes on the car due. Reason is if the car has not been on the road for so long it should have had the plates kept current or placed in storage. If they did place them in storage and failed to renew them every year, the fines add up and up and up. Friend of mine just paid just a bit over $1200 for his cars back taxes for the last 5 years.

Not sure if Hawaii could do anything if bought outside of the state but it might be worth a phone call to find out

On the Big Island $220 is the max fine. Once the car leaves the state the taxes are null.

Let me tell you. I love the system in Hawaii county. They print the title out right in front of you, no waiting for the title in the mail! Here in CA there are alot of hoops to jump through and long waits. I understand why but instant gratification is very nice.

If the car leaves the states they run the car at the border and if any back taxes are due they must be paid in full at that time before they will release the car. If not the car gets returned. Im not sure how it works from state to state. Pain in the arse becouse hidden liens will also show up that the buyer is also responsable for. In Canada one search gets it all and it can be done before any money is exchanged.

A few years ago I purchased a car out of San Juan, Puerto Rico. The owner had to go to DMV to get a release saying there were no outstanding tickets and then another saying there was no outstanding leins. After that was done, the car than had to go bonded yard and wait for 5 days before it could be released to ship. the wait was to make certain all the paperwork was legit and no funny business was going on in the back office and the releases were not just simply "bought"

Luckily the owner took care of all of this. When it was all said and done he was out of pocket $600.00 which he paid for directly and didn't try to pass the cost through.

The 68 SS L34 is under going a restoration and will be ready in 06.

The 68 SS/RS L34 was completely done in 1979 & 1980. 2002 1St Place winner at the Camaro Nationals for Stock Convertibles 67-69. Highly optioned car.

The 69 SS L89 has not been redone, has all of it's original parts and is fully documented.

As with each car there is a story behind each one of them that I won't bore you with here.

I have tried to attach pics but they get kicked back b/c they are too big. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
