They have had a lot of nice stuff in the last year. They advertise in Hemmings often and the prices seem fair.
They also had a L89 Chevelle recently that was owned by a member of this site. Mickey Hale.

I have been to their place several times to look at cars. Seem like nice guys, the owner is named Rolland. They are usually at Carlisle every year. Looked at the photos of that car, couple of things: intake and carb are wrong, steering wheel is incorrect, looks like repop door panels, Hurst shifter is not oem but certainly makes it more fun to drive. Would have to take a closer look in person, but overall it looks good. Make sure you check all component ID #'s, fit and finish of body, get the car up in the air to thoroughly inspect undercarriage. The price is very fair for #'s BB Nova. Let me know if I can help further. Good luck.

Thanks. They are supposed to send me some pictures and more information.

Don't know the dealer but I've been admiring the black '66 Chevelle with the black/white gut that he's had for a while.
Nice! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

Would the M22 not be original if the 396/350 engine is original? I thought the M22 was only offered on solid lifter engines unless that changed in 1970.

I would also like to know the availablility of the M22 with the L34 Nova for 70. I believe the 70 Velle could get the M22 with the LS5 which was not a solid lifter engine, don't know if you could get it with the 70 L34 Velle http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I think all LS5's and LS6 4speeds were M22 fine splines. I'm not aware of any L34 Novas receiving the M22 in either of the 3 years, but I'm sure a few were optioned that way. I think the L34 Novas were usually optioned pretty heavy, especially if they were an a/t, but not many buyers would have mated they M22 with the hyd cammed BB.
In 1970,the M-22 was possible on the Ass.line as an RPO for:
*LS5 or LS6 Chevelle,(5410 received)
*Camaro
*Corvette
Beginning in 1970,the Nova & Passenger cars dropped the RPO M-22 option availability.

The M22 was not available in the 70 Nova in any power train combination, not sure about the Deuces. The M22 in this L34 Nova is probably not original.SULLY

No M22's in deuces, all were M21's or TH400's
The sales guy said there are no numbers on the trans. He sent me some more pictures. I have to look them all over and a member here is going to have a look at the pictures for me. Thanks all.....TW

Be sure to measure the front core support. It looks like a small block fan shroud. Earl
69Yenko...thanks. I am starting to think something is wrong with the whole deal. The sales guy, Jeff, was supposed to get me previous owner contacts and a detailed list of all pertinent numbers yesterday. He also was supposed to email me a good picture of the engine stamp. The one he sent was too blurred to make out. I called him again this morning asking for all the numbers he has and contact phone numbers. I have not heard from him. A couple of members here had me ask specific questions on the car. He claimed he did not know, yet during our first couple of conversations, he was sure everything was original. He said the owner of Carrolls had all the numbers writen down, but he hasn't sent me anything. I think i will pass on this one.
MNYenko...I asked Jeff for a close up shot of the core support. I explained to him what a core support was. No picture of that either. Thanks again everyone.

hey Tony..dont give up until you get the same response from the owner...may be a loser salesman...good BB Novas are the few...worth double checking before heading out..tell the bone head to measue the support while your on the phone with him...peanut gallery out.
Bud.
Bud...I will see if I can speak to Rolland, the owner of the place. One more phone call won't hurt I guess. Thanks.

I had the same thing with this Rolland regarding an "ALL ORIGINAL" 1965 Chevelle SS. I ended up contacting a very knowledgeable member from Team Chevelle and he told me the car was bogus. This guy typically has a showroom full or NOM cars, and clones. Tony-- he did the exact same thing to me. Quiet the business man!
Here are some numbers on the Nova
VIN..114270W228595
Trim Tag
70...11427WM178450
732...78..78
01B...A
Engine
T0918CTX
19W228595
Isn't that a Sept 69 engine date? And a second week of Jan car build date?
You are correct. On my Nova, the time between build date and engine date is only one week. In most cases the engine date will be within a month or so of the build date of the body.

Tony,
CTX looks good. 70 396/350 4spd. Assembled 9/18. Vin stamp is W for willow run. Vin on car and motor the same. Build week looks off. Could it be 10B rather than 01B. The rivot is near the date. They can be hard to read. Earl
Earl...It is for sure is 01B on the tag.
69 Yenko...are these the same numbers they gave you?

FAKE! The VIN code should be 10Wxxxxxx with the "0" being for the 1970 model year, not date. A "9" there would indicate a 1969 model. Something is screwy with that one.

Allen, you beat me to it. I was just scrolling down to the bottom of the thread to post that. Still a nice looking car, just don't pay for it being a numbers car. It does make you wonder what else is phony on it, though http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

That's what I love about this and other similar communities...information can really debunk fraud and "honest mistake" marketing of these cars.

Well, I called them the first thing this morning. Spoke to Jeff the sales guy. Explained the number situation to him. He said he would have Rolland the owner call me. Still waiting. Looks like it may be a long wait.I appreciate everyones responses here and the PMs.
Rolland called me today. Engine is not original. He will change his ads to reflect that. He also said he would register here on the site to give the particulars on the car and to address the circumstances surrounding his purchase of it.

After rereading what I wrote, I want to apologize to Rolland his is dealership as I believe my comments could have been interpreted incorrectly. I was attempting to give Tony a thorough "heads up" based on my past negative experience with this dealership. Although my comment might have sounded rude, I was not purposely trying to dole slanders to prevent future sales or to create negative reputations. Thanks guys.

Dan,
You were just telling it like it is...it's all good. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
If this guy is worried about his "REP" in the industry, then maybe he should be more knowledgeable about the product he's repping and selling...a little bit of knowledge goes a long way...a tiny bit of knowledge is dangerous.
Also being "upfront" about what's for sale will go a long way to help his reputation as a dealer in classic/muscle cars. I look forward to him signing up here http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif,
maybe we'll all learn something...
