"I have a copy of a chevrolet document that states this color was available on malibu's in January of 1970 part of the spring colors. Also states that the color was not available on 454 ss ls6 and interior color green was not available."
Where do you think he got that from.. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
Seriously,Carey did a really nice light resto on this Chevelle.I am sorry to see it is for sale,as I am fond of this car.

I am not familiar with this car; it sounds like some of you are. Can't tell exactly from the ebay write up, but is this citrus color called out on the BS? What is that code, BTW. I like it. It is actually nicely set off by the green interior.

Yes.I have the Paperwork on it,& it is a factory painted Code #43 Citrus Green.
You either Love it or Hate it.
This was a New Spring of 70 color, and I found some dealer docs that clearly state this new color was not available on the 1970 LS6 Chevelle,or with a Green interior. This has both.Trim tag shows -- for special order paint. And its all on the buildsheet,so never say never in this case.
I know there is NO way to factual prove his claim from Chevrolet records, but this Very well could be a 1 of 1 1970 LS6 Chevelle. When he pulled into Chicago Vettefest with it in Nov. 02 we all thought he painted it.Once I got closer & saw the Buildsheet & Original UNIROYAL Spare tire in original Trunk Compt.,interior,etc.I couldn't believe it.http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif
The car has been freshened up as he states,so it's not a true "SURVIVOR".He found this Chevelle in the 1990's in Florida, after looking at a Chevelle at Super Chevys Unlimited.I believe it was advertised in Hemmings Motor news back then too?
He is a local guy to me,and really nice.
His name is Dave Gilsmer, not Gilmer.(Nice Vlasic! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

I have pics of this car that I took when it was in a museum in Florida! I think it was 1998 and I asked if it was for sale and the guy said 45k would take it. I still talk about that car! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

On the heels of the Carolina Blue LS6 selling for $105K,just roughly 2 hours left for this Special Paint Car... http://www.theologyweb.com/forum/images/smilies/popcorn.gif http://www.theologyweb.com/forum/images/smilies/popcorn.gif http://www.theologyweb.com/forum/images/smilies/popcorn.gif

I was high bidder on the car until late yesterday. As cool as it is, I think the green guts and older paint are what is likely keeping it out of the really big bucks.

Not calling out that it is a LS6 in the ad title didn't help either....
