[/ QUOTE ]The Eleanor Car is to Shelby Purists, what the Red Vette in CORVETTE Summer is to Vette Purists. Eleanor is a Movie Car creation and bears little resemblance to an actual 67 GT500. If you are one of the few on this site that has not seen the ULTIMATE 1967 GT 500, see Charley's! That is a 67 GT500 Super Snake, one of one! and they actually built LESS GT 350's, as everybody wanted the big Engine and Gas was .32 Cents a Gallon. with Real Octane numbers as well! $200K may seem Pricey, But it will seem like a Bargain after Carroll Shelby Passes on to the Big Racetrack in the..Uh..wherever they send him!. Some Elitists consider 1967 Shelby's to be the last "TRUE" Shelby Cars since production shifted from Shelby-American in Los Angeles, to A.O. Smith in Livonia Michigan. Sub Contracting for Ford. Also, Ford in typical pencil sharpening fashion, started to plan their own Special Mustangs and eliminate Shelby altogether. The Mach1 and the Boss 302 and Boss 429 were uleashed to the public with much Fanfare, while the Shelby Mustang was produced in small numbers. The 1970 Shelby Mustangs are actually left over 69's with Black stripes added to the Hood, a Front spoiler and a New VIN Plate! Shelby then went to Africa for Ten Years! as for the Carbon Fiber COBRA, these are "Continuation Series" COBRAS, Made By SHELBY American at his Factory in Las Vegas. after watching the world "Pimp his Ride" for 30 years, and an unsuccessful lawsuit to stop them, he decided to enter the game himself. Except these Cars Are Built using all new Components and are built to the exact specs of an original 427 COBRA! And they have the all important "CSX" prefix in the Serial number. These cars are the CSX4000 series. The original Cars (About 350 "427 COBRA" Cars total built) were CSX3000 Series and the 289 Cobras(about 650 built)were CSX2000 series cars. On the 4000 series Cars, They upgraded Brakes, Electronics, and Shocks. The Frame is still 4" Round on the outside, but is increased in strength By going to .120 mil thick instead of the original .95(Less Flex) Fully independant Rear suspension etc. all you need is to add engine and Transmission as they cannot do it or they would have to meet Federal Law standards as Auto Manufacturers. The Carbon Fiber Cars I thought had only 3 produced?? Not just 2?? They were also available in Aluminum and Fiberglass. Of which I have a Fiberglass Car! It is a Rocket with a 428 "Cobra Jet" Engine that produces 478 HP@ 5800 rpm with 535 ft. lbs of Torque@ 3500 rpm. all that with a TKO 5 speed and a Hydraulic Clutch!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif The Car weighs in at Roughly 2560 lbs. with me in the Drivers seat! Really Scary Fast after 150 mph!!

Price seems a bit high on the carbon fiber car:

"Also introduced was a new carbon fiber CSX 4000 Cobra. This car will be built on the same chassis as the fiberglass car but will feature a carbon fiber cockpit and body. The price starts at $57,500 for a fully assembled, painted Roller with wheels and tires."

Guys,
I know the seller and he is real, and really owns the cars!
I would suggest if you are interested to PM him and speak on the phone. As we have all seen, typing is not his strong suit (sorry RW!) http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif
