Spring Tag Questions??

Where did GM usually put the front and rear spring P/N tags? I just restored the rear leafs and am starting on the front springs and would like to know where to put the tags. Thanks! Paul

I found my original coil spring tags on the third from the bottom coil. 69 LA car

After Installing the restored rear leafs, I checked out the front coils and lo and behold there was the original spring tags. They were light blue with black letters and read "YP"

Just curious what other Camaro owners, particularly 69 models, have found as far as original spring codes for the front and rear of their cars. Please list engine size and Hp. Thanks, Paul

YP is Coil #3955722 & was used as the Std. on 1969 Camaros w/L34-L35-L78 engines.

Mine were light blue with EK followed by 3955710. 1969 RS/SS 350/300hp which matched my build sheet. Build sheet says BK springs on the rear.

Since my rear spring tags were missing, what rear spring codes would most probably go with the front YP code springs for a 396 L78 Camaro? My car has the 5 leaf rear springs.

I built the orignal calcultors for 69 and 70 Novas, but the Camaro shared many of the same springs so these were easy to set up. Have fun with them,
