I am selling this 1968 Mercury Cougar for the present owner. Car has the 400 horse 428 Cobrajet engine. Was an original 390 big block car that was owner upgraded with the 428 Cobrajet.
This beauty only has 45,000 original miles and has never seen a winter in it's life. The present owner is the second owner of this car. Lots of new stuff on this car including paint, vinyl top, wheels/tires, exhaust, carpet, fuel tank, master cylinder and lots more. Bumpers should be rechromed for show quality. These cars are getting harder to find and are rarely seen, especially with the 428 Cobrajet. If interested, contact me and I'll send a contact number so you can discuss this rare car with the owner. Only asking $14,500 or best offer on this blue hotrod. Car is going on ebay this weekend but want to give this site a first look. Car is located in Western NY and can be driven anywhere.

Man I love 68 Cougars. My Dad had a 68 XR7 many years ago. I miss that car. Neat ride. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Very nice car! I'm definitely a Chevy man, but my dad had a 67 Cougar that I got to drive in high school on the nice days and I really liked that car. Here it is.

Hey Bud...what's up? How's it going in Washington? Rainy?

Here are some pictures of a GT-E Cougar, so it has the right hood for a 428 equipped one...

Here's the emblem that was on the front lower fender

All this information was taken from this website The Classic Cougar Network (http://www.theclassiccougarnetwork.com/gte/) Production numbers are available there.

My best friend in high school had a GT-E with the 427 engine option...He did the BEST burnout on Senior burnout day...of course it helped that his father owned the local Goodyear Tire center!

I am not sure of the model but can ask tonight. Here is a shot of the front and reat. Hideaway lights work perfectly as do the rear sequential turn signals.
The car looks better in person.
