My 68 Camaro that was owned by a GM Research and Development engineer and who worked on the Mark IV engine project ran a ZL1 engine among other GM powerplants. Car ran in the Detroit/Windsor area.

Mr Motion, 'The Turk' also had a strong running Camaro. I don't think it had any special GM history though... At the 'Motors' there was one person across whose desk all the special performance orders passed. This would include the specially ordered show cars. The red/red 1968 Corvette with the 427 L89 motor was one such example. It's serial number was I believe in the 13,000 range.
