The first Saturday after Memorial Day...June 4th is Lombards first show. Should be a strong showing. That is if it isn`t 35 degrees and miserable weather http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif See you there!

Neat body/frame mods on that car. In PA they take their rat rods very seriously... Modern parts like that 90's small block and accessories wouldn't cut it. While its not as radical as the above car, here's an example of a Model A roadster traditional "rat rod" from the greater Pittsburgh area... spotted at the Irwin, PA Cruise-In yesterday afternoon. try to find any modern parts on it anywhere. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

It would be nice to build a rat rod. Nothing has to match, can be what you have laying around, any motor, hardware store nuts and bolts, glass, no glass and.........the rougher the better. NO clean up duty and you can drive it in the rain!!!! Perfect for Belair. He can sit on milk crates and still have a 1000 pt. ride. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/BelairSucks.gif

Looks like someone invited rain. Hopefully it will be busy with something else that night. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I think the forecast is for rain Friday night into Saturday morn, and clearing Saturday afternoon.

Hopefully that will happen. Unfortunately I will probably be a no-show cause it is my little ones birthday. I'm guessing he would rather be at Chuck E Cheese. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Turning 5 on Saturday. Just started Kindergarten on Wed. Took the morning off to be with him for the big day. It was pretty emotional for me and the wife.

Pretty depressing. The season finale for Lombard. Here are some pics from the "Members" lot. Mr70 and Kwizz got there a bit late and parked in front of us on the street. Sorry I didn't get pics of the cars. Kwizz, that's a beautiful Chevelle. Cheese colored and all. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

I thought it was one of the Best turn outs ever!
I say that not only about the perfect weather & cars that showed up,but the quality of the people who drove them.Sometimes you just have to stop & eat a Mango... http://pixel.cleyra.net/misc/mango.gif
I left at 9:45,and could see many there would call me an early bird.
The caliber of people & cars that showed up later on was incredible.
Mark W.& Bill M. & Jerry,it was nice to meet up with you too.

That's a Gouda Chevelle Ken. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

After looking at the "Quality" of the paint work on your car and Don's car.......I spent all day today sanding and buffing to bring it up to NOS (Dan and Don's restoration business) standards...........It's nice to see someone in "Business" who "Gets It" ........

Ken and Jeff,

Thanks for the Kind words. Don and I had a blast at Lombard, it`s not often that we both can attend. Ken I`m sure you`ll have your 66 looking great in no time. We will all miss you at SCR8. Not to worry we will all take plenty of pics for you.

Jeff hope you can make it down for SCR8.

Dan.

It's a 255 miles to Collinsville. Got a full tank of gas, Full coffee mug, it's early morning and I'm wearing sunglasses. Hit it.
I should be there sometime around 8 - 8:30am Sat. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

The Difference between a "nice" paint job and a "great" paint job is in the last little disipline to get out "ALL" of the orange peel.......after looking at your cars.....I had a nice paint job........but its getting better every day.......That's the difference in this car hobby....what was O.K. yesterday might not be good enough today....and on and on it go's.............But we all need a benchmark to measure against.....My $.02

I can also attest to the quality of work they are churning out. Dan worked along side with me on my mini-resto. I owe him a great deal for the end result of my project. My Z will be going into their shop for some paint detailing in preparation for the Fall Vettefest (if it happens).

Can't wait to see the NOS restoration ElCamino! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Thanks again for the kind words Ken, Jeff, & Darren. Dan & I pride ourselves on detail that is often missed during a restoration. We look forward to seeing many of you at SCR8. Also Darren, can't wait to do that detail work on the Z. What a great car. Have a safe trip. Don
