Im thinking about purchasing the 69 Yenko from Legendary Motors and would like some thoughts on the car and price you believe it is worth. They are asking around 160K. Provide thoughts and what you believe the car is worth.

[/ QUOTE ]Totally kills any actual Value! and how come there is only two gauges under the dash and not three?? Documentation...By who?? No mention if the L-72 is the Original Engine or Not and that Color Come on already!! Yellow Yenko Cars are like the lowest priced ones out there!! Vinyl Top to Boot! Yecch!! Everyone knows that!! and if they did not before, they do now!! I bet it does not even have the original air in the Tires...... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif Yeah buddy, you came to the right place to have a Car analyzed! But all Humor aside, The best thing for you to do instead of asking a "Pack of Sharks if you are bleeding", is to educate yourself on what a Yenko Car should and should not have. go and examine the car yourself. If you are not mechanicly inclined, hire a professional. Legendary Motorcars are well known and deal in High end Cars. But remember, they are selling USED Cars, Not New ones. already the Aftermarket Shifter, 2 Gauges not 3 and lack of Smog system has been detected just by viewing a couple of pictures. You need to lift the Rug and check for Rust Repair. Find out if it has the Original Engine or just a Close Match. same with the Rear and Transmission. all of these factor into what the price should be. also what is the "Documentation" they speak of? it could be a Letter from the Junkyard that sold it last year to a Restoration Facility for all we know. Is it in the YENKO Registry?? and if not, how come? gather these few facts, and then repost with the information, and you will be able to get a more Accurate idea. also the most important factor is this. Do you really like this car? Is it the one you have always dreamed of owning? Do not let those "Desires" make you turn a Blind eye to objects that may cost you money in the long term. Research this car until you are comfortable with knowing exactly what you are buying. If it has a Few Flaws and that is acceptable to you, Go for it! Good Luck. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif

[/ QUOTE ]If you are talking to me, The first half of my Post is a Rouse. The advice offered towards the end is for Real! Lest we forget that I entered this forum with a COPO That was well known a long time ago and I got drug through the Mud until I could prove it as such. But I got thick skin and always enjoy a good Mental Challenge. Others get turned off easily. Now I do not know this Car. Or the guy asking about it. Maybe he has zero knowledge and that is why he has come here seeking the advice of stranger's. It was not long ago that I was in the same position. I am only attempting to prevent yet another New Member from enduring the scrutiny that I once endured. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

They are still way to precise for a Backyard Speed Project!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif anyway this Board is way too much fun to leave now!! I think I will raise the price on the Car so I can stick around for a Long time!! I did actually take a spin in the COPO today as the weather was beautiful! I keep looking at Exhaust Manifolds and smog pumps, stock distributors and the like! resto Fever is slowly building up inside me!! what to do what to do!!!!

It is on the registry it is a CE block, I own several cars and a couple Camaros Z28s. This will be my fist Yenko and yes I have wanted one for a while. Just thought I would tempt the all knowing here. Yes I will put eyes on the car or atleast a rep for me. Figured the history of the car was here and if not atleast the knowledge base is, so thank you for your response and any other info is appreciated.

I haven't visited my mom, but hope to in June. When I do you will get a call and we will hook up. You may have that rare backup delete option. I look forward to inspecting this car. I suspect someone must have fabricated something along the way. If these cars could only talk.

When Ed looked at your car what were his thought regarding the backup lights?

If you were referring to me as scrutinizing your car reread what I originally wrote. As I stated before I did not know it was the same car based on your original description. Since that time you have updated and clarified your description in the sale section very accurately. Lets move on, which I thought we had.

12 Bolt.....Sounded to me like you were riding the guy pretty hard about options. Hmmm, seems to me that I just learned that lesson within another post that Charley made last week (gulp). My apologies there Charley.

Back on topic here, I have been told only a few tidbits of info about the Hurst Camaro's and would love to see if anyone can offer a bit more info about them. I know of another collector that is interested in finding one of the Hurst cars if thats what they are referred to as. Can anyone shed some more light on the Hurst shifter option or more about the cars optioned as such? Perhaps some info on how many were made and a link to more info or even a magazine ad from the day.

Thanks in advance.

My understanding regarding the automatic Yenko cars is that they were converted from column shift to floor with hurst dual gate shifters. Again my understanding is the Don, chose to keep the cost down and did not want to pay for the cost of consoles. There is at least one factory console floor shift auto Yenko, but that is the exception.

Ditto on the Deuces Steve, Yenko installed the dual gate shifter - sans console.

dinker 1st make sure the vin is on the syc yenko list, then check out the documents they have on the car,if they check out ok i would then go and do a thorough inspection of the car itself, numbers, metal work if any, also a ce block is the best way to go if the original is long gone, the 160 area seems to be in the ballpark nowadays good luck!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

That car briefly belonged to a friend. He sold two 69 Yenko Camaro's to Legendary. It is a real car and a decent car. We can pick at it but the price does not seem out there considering what stuff is selling for these days.

I believe Richard sold it to Legendary http://camaroheaven.net/CarsForSale/index.html

I saw it at the Toronto Auction last summer.

If it came from Richard then I am screwed up and it did not come from my Friend and I know nothing about it... sorry.
