Yesterday I saw this car in a quicktrip store but didn't get time to take a pic of it.
Was at a party last night and one of the officials of the up coming Shelby meet here in Tulsa was there and I told him about seeing the new Shelby GT40. He said it will be at the show but there was only one in existance so far and he doubted that I really knew what I was talking about. He was sure that it was not here yet for the show! Kinda hurt my feelings. I have personally owned a Shelby 500 and 4 Panteras not to mention a couple of dozen Mach I mustangs back when I was a used car dealer. I am a racing fan of these cars and would love to own one of the originals. I was excited when I saw that they were going to make a new car verison of them. So when this came pulling in as I was leaving I had to double back to look it over. Just as I went to try to get my camera the driver came back out and drove off. I asked him if it was the new one that Ford was coming out with and he said it was.
There was no dealer paper tag or anything on it to ID the owner. It was obvious that this was a NEW car and not some streetable old race car. It might be a clone but if it is it is sure is a good one. I told him it had a chrome plate on the back where the tag goes that said "Ford Racing" under a blue Ford oval emblem. Sure pissed me off that he thought I didn't know what I was talking about.
Then today at Noon, the same red car comes driving by me again and got on the interstate. Took a while for me to catch up but here are a few pic of the dam thing that he said didn't exist in "Tulsa" this week. Wish I could see his face when he sees these pic. Wonder what his coment will be then????
It Sure was hard to keep up with as the driver just didn't want to be passed by a old junky dodge van till he saw that I was trying to take pic of the car. Sorry they are not very good. I was by myself and these are one hand shots out the window at 70mph with everybody around me trying to get a look at it too.
