Guys,
I am trying to find any kind of documentation for the black sport mirrors that Yenko installed on some of the '70 Deuces like mine. I was at an AACA national meet this past weekend and the judges were asking me for pictures and written documentation for these mirrors instead of the standard chrome bowtie mirrors. Does anyone have some information like this that could help me for future validation of this option so I can keep the judges happy and not have points deducted?

I will e mail you some "documentation" this evening unless marlin can provide it sooner... The mirrors are a definite Yenko option, and are detailed on one of the ad flyers produced and distributed by Yenko. The standard mirror was round with no bowtie... tell the judges to start knocking points off the guys with bowtie mirrors on 69/70 cars instead of hitting you for the original mirrors on your Deuce. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif

The standard deuce brochure has the sport mirror option, as does your window sticker - why would they dispute that option? What a pita!

The mirrors were dealer installed, obviously, along with many other items on the deuces, so they can't dock it for dealer installation.

The mirrors are actually Hurst/Olds, Hurst/SC Rambler items, but in black instead of white/chrome. They are not the Talbot mirrors of Shelby usage. You have the correct ones on your car, so they can't dock it for the wrong version.

I guess it's just a knowledge thing for the AACA judges, the car is 'new' to them.

Hey Marlin and Joe,
Thanks for the reply on this isssue. You guys are right on the money on this. The biggest concern that we have with our cars is educating the AACA and other group people who are judging our cars. I appreciate the printed information that you can send. I showed my window sticker to the Captain of the judging team but he said that since it only says twin sport mirrors that it doesn't really tell him a description of them, so anything that you can help me with will be great to show to them.
Are you guys members of AACA by any chance? I sure would like some company at some of these shows to help educate the AACA and the public. They just don't see enough of our cars in person to really know how special they really are. The most that anyone at the shows seem to know is what they have seen in some of the new muscle car magazines. Which reminds me to say many, many kudos to you on the articles that I have read recently about you and your cars.
So, do you think we can bring them up to speed?
