Hey Guys! I am posting this information as I hope other members can use it when tracking the history of their cars.

My 1970 Chevrolet Camaro was sold new out of Jerry Roth Chevrolet in Lakewood, Colorado. I did not think too much of the dealership because it was a smaller dealer located on the outskirts of Denver. But since my car has numerous documents with the dealership name on it, I started some minor research on the dealer (see picture below).

In my travels I found out that Jerry Roth was not a part a part of Drag Racing like some of the big dealers like Fred Gibb Chevrolet or Yenko Chevrolet, but a big part of dirt track racing. Through a simple Google search of "Jerry Roth Chevrolet" I was able to find the website below. Colorado Drag Racing Memories is a HUGE collection of information from all drag strips, drivers and cars in Colorado. It is a wonderful resource.

After a few e-mails back and forth from the websites care taker and creator, he pointed me to the this page (see below url). JRC sponsored a few cars in the Dirt Track Racing series that were seldom seen racing at Englewood Speedway. A quick read of the webpage will also express the success the JRC team had while on the track.

My most recent find is the following. Somewhere between 1967 and 1969 Jerry Roth Chevrolet was created as "Red" White Chevrolet went out of business. I would assume JRC took over the ailing business as both dealers have the same address. I have no way of documenting this change as I have not seen a picture or either dealers. I have tried contacting historians in the area, but I have not had luck there either. I do not know about new paper clippings or ads because I do not live in the area.

This is where I would like your help sYc! If anyone lives in the Denver area that can document this change, by finding original dealer DATED pieces, news paper clippings or advertisements It would be wonderful. Thanks for tuning in guys! With your help, I know this information can be obtained.

Sincerely,
-Dan

Yes Joe, My car has the diecast emblem on the back. It is the same unit as posted by Mr70. The envelope is post marked July 27, 1970.

I do not want to seem as if I am beating this into the ground, however I personally find it interesting.

My Dad, Fred H.Craig was the Craig in Craig Frederick Chevrolet, Golden Colorado, and he and his brother were the Craig’s in Craig-Fredetick, Arvada, Co. Craig Frederick akso had a dealership in Lakewood. All three towns in Jefferson Co. Colorado -and members of the Greater Denver Chevy Dealers Association.. The Federal Government became involved stating these dealerships constituted a monopoly. Golden became Steve Frederick, Arvada became Craig under Reuben Craig and Lakewood was renamed “Red” White for Wilbur W.White (a collage sports star and alcoholic). His disease got the better if him and in the day papers were to be signed forming a new dealership with the bookkeeper, Jerry Roth, Mr. White died drinking at Lakewood County Club. My Dad was “silent’ partner in both the Craig dealership and “Jerry Roth”. The advanced design of the mostly glass vehicle showroom on West Colfax was one designed by my father. The blueprints were used by at least 9 other Chevrolet dealers across the US. I saw something on this forum about Jerry Roth Dealership and thought I would add a few background details.
