The missing 1971 plymouth hemi cuda convertible has been located. Seems it is owned by a truckdriver in pittsburg, pa, who has been keeping it a family secret for quite some years.

Scroll down and read the members "vehicle list" in the third reply to this thread.

Actually the last "real" 71 hemicuda ragtop was recently located. It is red with black interior and very few options. That means all are accounted for unless another export car shows up in the future.
7 for US production
2 for Canadian production
2 for export production
11 total

Here's a shot of me beating the crap out of #6 US production at the 1986 Musclecar Nationals.

19 years ago and it still seems like yesterday. Nothing like rev-ing an original (though blueprinted) engine to 7000 rpm and having it shrug it off like it was nothing. ....There just somethin' about a hemi! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

The "I found it" was definately sarcastic steve. That guy is a known blowhard/bigmouth on that forum, and if you read a little further in that thread, you'll see where some of the regular posters there took him to task over his claim to own that car.

I was hoping you'd find this thread. I have been doing a bunch of research on these 11 cars, and have read several of your posts concering them on this message board. You seem to know a lot about that particular car.

Is there a complete list of the owners and locations anywhere that you know of??

The keeper of that knowledge would be Galen Govier and I would assume that he is sworn to secrecy on the who's-who list of millionaires.

Well I'll be damned. Not even a general location list huh??

Okay, lets try a little different question. Are any of the cars still in the hands of there original owners??? Or, is there any information regarding what dealers originally sold those 7 cars that remained in the US??? Or possibly what region they were sold in??

What dollar values can be placed on a good replica?

My old one was sold new in Wisconsin. It had all its orginal paperwork. I dont think any are in original hands any more. I dont think any came from a "famous" dealership, just regular purchases at hometown dealers.

So which one is this, and where did it end up. 71 hemicudaconv (http://www.murphyauction.com/hemicuda.html#pic8)

That was the blue 71 4 speed car that was in Denver when I last saw it in 1982. I believe the auction you have linked to was from a police seizure of the car from some nefarious individual in Oregon or Washington State. Both of the US production
4-speed cars are blue on blue.

Any idea where it's at now??

Thought you guys would be interested. Back in 1975 I responded to an ad in the Arizona Republic for a 1971 Hemi Cuda convertible. The car was red with black billboards, auto console, and to the best of my recollection had a white interior. I actually drove the car down 20th street in Phx. I couldn't get the seller to come off his 3800.00 price so I passed. Do you guys know what happened to this car? I didn't get much feedback from the Moparts forum. Further if anyone else who frequents this site by any chance lived in the Phoenix area in the mid 70's and remembers anything about this car, please chime in. I've always been interested in the rare e-bodies esp Challengers, but for historical clarity I would be very curious as to what happened to this hemi convertible.

There are 11 real cars and 11000 replicant/clone/tribute/artificial hemi-like substitutes out there. The easy way to tell is look at the dash VIN in the windshield. It should start with BS27R: BS=Cuda, 27=convertible, R=$$$$$$$(hemi) http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif If it does, call me, not Charlie!

The guy I did the 67 Yenko for brought back the 2 export Hemi cars.

Speaking of "I found it", following the link above, I did find one of my old cars. At least I am fairly cetian it is, I just need confirmation. On Kevins site there is a 69 Motion phase 3 Super Stock car. It has to be it. I bought the car, on payments no less, in 1987 from the original owner.
First thing I did, paint it black to match my brothers car. And not my best work either!
I'll wait for Kevin's return e mail, If this is it, and it has to be, there can only be so many 700 mile Motion race cars out there, I will tell some stories.
I am going to have to look, I think I have the original carbs, which are melted, it's a long story!

The Blue Hemi Cuda convert ( the other 4 speed) was just sold to a private collector. The car will not see daylight for years to come, with the rest of his Very Big collection.
You wouldnt even know he owns a car standing next to him.
