Looking for pics and info on this car. I know it was discussed here before but my search came up short.

Thanks.

Found this in the 1982 Quicksilver Chevy book by Marty Schorr. Caption says the car was "fitted with a hot small-block for MP and D/HR competition." '67 B-M Camaro in background helps date this photo, as does the "1967 Class Winner" on the display sign at left.

This photo, also from the Schorr book, shows the same car show with the "Assassin" barely visible in the left background. B-M display Camaros appear to be '67s. Mr. Rosen is seen (with tie) under the word "MOTION" at left.

Joe,
I was at the NYC Collisium for that '67 show. Saw Joel and all the cars. I loved seeing Ritchie's '63, but I was bummed because they had the hood open, and the engine was covered with that cheesy "angel hair" stuff all the show guys used to cram in the dirty areas. Ahhh, the sixties..................
Hindsight.......wish I would have joined the Supercar Club and grabbed a bunch of decals. All I have are a few catalogs and some 'MP" window stickers. (not for sale)

You've got a better memory than me Verne, but I remember how Joel and his crew looked like they stepped out of one of my old H.S. classes. It just seemed funny, here were these young H.S. lookin guys having a http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif display in with the old establishment car companies. It was pretty http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif---

Joe,
I felt the same way. I was 16 (had to take the bus in). I was just knocked over by how young they were, and surrounded by all that "new" high perf stuff. And Joel presented himself as a professional, clean cut, suit and tie, successful and confident. What a new beginning and era for common car guys who lived and breathed hot Chevys. Hard to describe the impression that made on me. I was just in awe.

Mosport,
I have a "very, very" thin lead about car locked up here in NJ, but nothing substantial. Joel gave me the last number he had for Richie up in New England, but I was never able to get through to him.

Verne
PS: No, none of us really left. I don't know when that picture was taken, because when I was there, they were 3 deep around those ropes..... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

Verne, I know a fella that knew Richie Brown and he said he bumps into him in Florida. He tried to contact him last year for me, but the number he had was no longer good.According to him the car was not with Richie anymore.

Joe,
I don't know what I did with the old emails from Joel, but I'm pretty sure he said Richie sold the car to a local guy not long after he stopped racing it. Then it disapeared.
It may have been painted black.

Maybe Chevelleman has a lead, since he made the inquiry?????

Close-up crop of the '67 show photo. Note cylinder head (aluminum maybe?) on the Camaro's hood just behind the guy in the white shirt.

Motion-prepped '67 drag car. Stinger emblems look like a "427" with "SS" underneath? Note the girl at right reading a pamphlet. Potential B-M Supercar customer???

No Sam, The one near E-town I've been trying to find was a metalflake purple one owned by a couple black fellows. They used to race it there in M/P in '68-'69. That car disapeared too and I can't find anybody who remembers it.
The "black" one was south of me and reported to be on the street in the '70s.

I spoke before of a 66 GTO funny car I had for a while called the Grey Ghost...it was a Chicago car and it was sold to these gentlemen when Larry Swiatek got a newer GTO funny...these guys changed the name to Assasin ...I guess this pic is probably 60 or maybe later...he replaced this one with a 68 or 69
