"Good News! The second Year One F.A.S.T. and F/S race of 2005 is on the schedule!

The event will be held at US 131, Martin Michigan on Friday June 17th. It will be a one day event.

For those of you who have not been to US 131 lately, it is a beautiful, modern facility. The track surface is only a couple years old and is laser level. The hook is excelent, in our opinion as good or better than Norwalk, and we all know how good Norwalk is.

The FAST and the F/S cars will definetly be run separetly. The FAST Board is hosting this race, so we can guarantee that! THe FAST cars will run the standard format with a Quick 8 and best of 3 shootouts for the non-Q8 qualifiers. The F/S will run either Quick 8 plus best of 3 just like in FAST, or all best of 3 shootouts depending on what the F/S drivers want.

We will be taking pre-registrations starting soon, the cost will be $65 per car. We will be anouncing prizes and more details when they become available.

Hotel: Comfort Inn Exit 49 off 131 ph# 269-685-9891, tell them your with the Yearone group.

Hope to see you all there!"

Today may be *the* day...Year One has a $1000 award for the 1st F.A.S.T. car to run in the 10's at a Year One sponsored event, and a '69 L88 Corvette went a 10.97 at the Hemmings event in Lebanon Valley last month!

COPO Pete and JJ are there doing battle, along with Casey and Dave and some other low lifes that hang around here...

This low life didn't make it. Spent all week putting it back together and the trans won't shift out of first.

Kinda disgusted right now, but hope the boys are having fun.

That sucks, Dirty...same thing happened to me a couple years ago. I had a trans built, slapped it into the Camaro and left...get to Norwalk (750+ miles one way), and it won't shift to 2nd under power...bad intermediate sprag. Come to find out, the trans guy decided to switch brands of sprags, and my tranny was the guinnea pig (without me knowing it)...so, out it came, for another rebuild. The ball buster was, my next trip to Norwalk resulted in yet *another* trans problem with the same transmission! I got less than a handful of runs on over 3,000 miles worth of driving...the only 2 times I've EVER been to Norwalk.

Anyway, back on topic...I hope you get yours squared away, and I hope everyone is running well at US131... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Here's a little good news.........

Wayne Nelson grabbed the Y.O. loot but not the event win.

Wayne was #1 qualifier, went 10.96? during test and tune, went 10.99 in first round of the fast 8, but lost out to Terry "Big Dog" Penningtons orange 69 ZL1 Camaro in the final.

Jim Johnston turned an 11.80 in his factory stock 69 L88 Corvette wearing a pair of lightweight tennies. Jimmy and Copo Pete were the final pair in factory stock with the Corvette getting there first.

There were quite a few new faces and first time out cars. Tom Miller was there with his beautiful new GTO, and no, he hasnt sold it yet .

I'm sure others will have a lot more info. I had a good time as usual, just CRS.

That picture of the Chevelle above is from this event:

www.musclecarrace.com (http://www.musclecarrace.com)

That was taken last year in the November race.

Next race is July 30th Englishtown, NJ

Wayne Nelson dipped below the 11's at Martin (10.99) Michigan yesterday. Congrats again Wayne...although he didn't take home the event title

Mom, dad, and i all got back safe from Martin on the 18th but the computer just got fixed yesterday,(no internet connection.) speaking of problems, dad tuned the car up and it slowed to a best of 15.12 @ 92.01 from 14.92 last october at gateway international raceway. Mom raced a 2 out of 3 shootout with a supercharged 312 t-bird. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif she lost in rounds 2 and 3 because of wheelspin http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif and won round one on a better light and a little bit of a hook. Overall, I would like to thank the staff and all of the people who put this on for making it a fantastic event. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif
