Frank you make a good point here... A short story for all. After we struck a deal with the original owner of our convertible a few weeks pass and it is time for the car to be loaded on the Horseless Carriage Truck. We asked Wally (the original owner) to please call to make sure everything went smoothly. His wife, Anne, told us he turned a ghostly white complexion with tear filled eyes when the truck drove off. It becomes a love affair after so long ... the cars are a part of the family!

I cannot get enough of this 'Stang!
I am not too far from this car if someone needs me to look at it? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

That car is identical, with the exception being the 4 speed, to the Shelby my parents bought brand new in 1969. I was 8 years old and thought I was the cat's ass when we would go for drives. They sold the car shorly after purchase; about 8 months. They wound up trading it in on an Olds Delta 88 convertible http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif I'll tell you though, my Dad had a blast with that car while we had it. We would get into the occassional stop light street race; never lost by the way. Man I wish I knew where that car was today.

Frank,
Here's another original owner (1970 'cuda) selling his car after all these years. It's sad that he is selling it, due to health problems. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I still find it hard to believe that coming home from Nam and ordering the car and keeping the car that long and now deciding to sell it. I wish others I've offered $$ to would sell their ride especially when they don't drive or are not into cars. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I am the guy who bought the car - talking to Bob (the seller) is really incredible. Good stories. He ordered what I would have - 4.30 locker rear, SCJ motor with Drag Pack (oil cooler), no power assists, good color, etc. Says he buried the smog and manifolds in his back yard, but he is going to go dig them up because it "is really sandy soil so they will have not been wet" !

He said he would have sold the car when the gas crunch hit, but when he went to trade it on a new car the dealer "wouldn't give him anything" for it, so, he parked it. I am glad he did!

When I get the car home I will post some more pictures if anybody cares to see them.

I would love to see them........reminds me of a buddies' car from the early 70s. Had 428, drag pack, but was Calypso Coral. When you see Bob again, tell him we said... Welcome Home.

Colin, you dog! If I ever decided to jump ship from the Bow-Tie camp that would be the setup I'd go after...best looking body, and all the right options.

Hey Colin, not to change the subject, but did that Burgundy 69 Z come out of Wauwatosa? There was a guy that lived a few blocks from my folks who had a DY '69 Yenko (clone?), a '70 SS396 Chevelle and a RS/Z that looked identical to this car. This was probably 4-5 years ago...just curious. If this is the same car, it's really nice!
